OLYMPICS 2012 BEGIN TONIGHT!!!

Note to my pals and associates: the 2012 Summer Olympics begin tonight, so please don’t bother me for the next sixteen days!

Those of you who know my obsession with all things sports, and especially Olympics, know that I’m not really kidding about that. I’m jumping out of my skin with excitement!

I’m still hoping to publish daily columns, but if I miss a few here and there, please forgive me. I usually get no sleep during Olympics because I try to watch every second of coverage! It was much easier back in the day, when there was just one channel covering them, and we had to be satisfied with mainly three hours a night of primetime broadcasts. But now it’s a whole passel of networks, and we can choose just which sports to watch. But I care about all of them! Which means just about twenty-four of viewing for me! (Poor Mr. X.)

I recently read about a loyal fan (or perhaps an obsessed one—it’s all in the eye of the beholder) of soccer who died from no sleep during the Euro Cup tournament. I’m taking that as a serious cautionary tale and trying not to do the same. (Die, not watch every second.)

But, I do plan to tweet about the games because I’m sure to be outraged about something, don’t you think? @KarenSalkin And, if you like this E-zine on Facebook, you’ll get all the updates on INAM.

I guess all that’s left to say is: Go, USA! And Roger Federer, of course!
