MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HANUKKAH 2019

Looking over all my Christmas columns throughout the previous nine years of ItsNotAboutMe.TV, I realize that I’ve more brought the room down than brought it up. That’s because December 25 is the date that my precious mother became an angel eight years ago. So this year I’ll just ruminate on that privately.

That being said, let’s discuss these 2019 holidays. Coming less than four weeks after Thanksgiving didn’t give many of us time to let the day really sink in. This is actually the first time that Mr. X and I really did nothing in the house in the way of decorating. (Okay, I did just hang three new ornaments on the little Charlie Brown tree that sits on a counter in our living room all year long, as a sort-of tribute to my little mo who adored that television holiday presentation even more than I do, which I would not believe is even possible had I not witnessed it for myself.)

Mr. X and I are not doing anything to celebrate this year, which is a first in our very long relationship. For most of our years together, we’ve had a beautifully-decorated Christmas tree and lots of festive decorations all over the house, including the bathrooms! We even have multiple sets of holiday dishes. And we’ve always given each other more presents than just about everyone we know combined!

But please don’t feel the least bit bad for us—if you’ve been reading my columns in this e-zine, you know that we’ve had a lovely holiday season, in general. We’ve seen many fabulous and upbeat holiday presentations, enjoyed some festive lights in a few fun neighborhoods, and—wait for it—watched soooo many Hallmark Christmas movies, including a recent one that also celebrated Hanukkah, which is a first for that channel!!!

I love when when Christmas comes right in the middle of Hanukkah, as it does this year; that’s always fun. It seems to connect the two a bit more, which multi-holiday celebrants, such as Mr. X and myself, especially enjoy.

If you’re wondering what I asked Santa for this year, it’s that every one of my readers would also follow me on at least one of my social media platforms. (It will make it easier for you, too, because you’ll get a reminder of my daily columns, and all you have to do is click on the link!)
