RED CARPET EVENTS LA’S STYLE LOUNGE GIFTING SUITE IN HONOR OF THE 2017 GRAMMYS
One of my favorite events of the year, Red Carpet Events LA’s Grammys Lounge, returned to the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, this time on the beautiful, elegantly-tented terrace.
Roger Zamudio’s staff is always so pleasant to be around, which really adds to the fun. My contributing writer on this one, Alice, and I were happy to be a part of the festivities. (Her comments are the ones in quotes.)
There was a lovely mix of new sponsors and ones I’m already a fan of, so let’s get right to the highlights:
Denman Brush—I’ve known these most upbeat reps from this Irish hair brush company for awhile, so I was thrilled to see their sunshiny faces again, (and on such a rainy day,) especially my namesake, Karen. I’ve used their brushes for years, so I was happy to see this new array, including ones for babies! (We can’t start them early enough on locks love, can we?) Alice “loved this line of hair grooming products, that are so well-made.” And the variety this time was such fun. No wonder all the guests were clamoring for everything on their table! www.denmanbrush.com
Cailyn V11 Total Care Serum—Cailyn, a make-up line I’ve used, and loved, for years, has stepped-up their game, (which I hadn’t even thought possible!) They just launched their new serum, which triples as a moisturizer and a primer. They told me that no other product is required, which would be a godsend to me—I currently layer half a dozen products each day! Alice pointed-out that, in addition to priming, it “tones, hydrates, and fights against wrinkles. It’s packed with Vitamin C, which gives your skin not only a boost, but a glow.” And who doesn’t need that?! www.cailyncosmetics.com
BeTini Pre-mixed Cocktails—Alice, the imbiber in my group, said that “with only twenty-five calories per ounce, you can have a cocktail (or two,) and still be ‘teeny-weeny!’ ” She added that the Tropical Sunset Rum Cocktail is “so yummy!” Teetotaler moi was just attracted to the uber-attractive colorful bottles! www.betinispirits.com
Bioderma—I’ve been using this famous French company’s micellar solution make-up remover for awhile now, but the product line was new to Alice. She’s one of those chicks who removes her eye make-up every night, (don’t the rest of us just hate them?,) and she says that it’s now her “go-to product” to remove her “difficult under-eye liner.” That’s what we like to hear! www.bioderma.us
Mellisa B Naturally—We were happy to discover this skin care line, which is formulated with all-natural ingredients. Alice took a look at their microdermabrasion scrub, which is made with charcoal, and deemed it “a great exfoliator!” www.mellisabnaturally.com
Keep Your Ink—As a tattoo-eschewer, this was a new one on me. It’s a lotion you apply to keep your tattoos looking fresh and colorful! Who woulda thunk it?! www.keepyourink.com
Double Dare Spa Mask—They were gifting their new “double dare” kits, which are a duo of masks that you use in tandem, in one package. And to keep your hair off your face while you’re using them, there’s an adorable soft head band, (with a big pink or white bow on top,) which features my favorite saying on it–what else but “OMG!?” Duh. www.doubledarespa.com
Being You, Changing The World—This is a book written by Dr. Dain Heer to, in Alice’s words, “inspire you to be you, and give yourself an opportunity to grow.” I have a feeling that some viewers of my former TV show think that I already read it! www.beingyouchangingtheworld.com
European Skin and Massage Studio—This is a skin care salon that I keep planning to go to, but life gets in the way. (But what better time for a facial than when awards season is finally over?!) Alice made note of their natural products, which include a moisturizer for acne-prone skin that contains turmeric and echinacea. www.europeanskinandmassagestudio.com
Lassal Fashion—This apparel line from Germany was gifting each guest his or her choice of a variety of “fun accessories.” We were both most drawn to their “soft, fuzzy” bracelets and necklaces that feature a dangling gold star. www.lassal-fashion.com
Oleavicin–This lip ointment relieves cold sores with olive leaf extract, which Alice pointed-out “has healing properties.” It’s good to keep on hand for stressful situations, (like the one we’ll all be in for the next four years! So, we better stock-up on these little tubes!) www.oleavicin.com
Parfaire Medical Aesthetics—This skin care spa in Pasadena was on-site once again, gifting certificates for treatments at their place. Alice said they’re “a great way to maintain and rejuvenate your skin, from sculpting to facial fillers .” www.parfaire.com
Earth Mom–“Earth Mom” is a logo that indicates a commitment to environmental issues the world over. And there is no charge to use it! At the suite, they had photographer take each guest’s picture to fit into the icon where the earth mother’s face is now. (I’m still waiting for them to send me mine, or else I’d show it to you now.) www.earthmom.org
Roger’s charity this time was the African Millennium Foundation, a non-profit and non-governmental organization that facilitates the social and economic empowerment of the people of Africa, especially women. www.1amf.org
A hallmark of all of Roger’s events is the giant gift bags of additional goodies that the VIPs leave with. And this year was no exception. Some of the highlights in there this time were: relaxing body products from Scentuals Yoga line, (I’ll let you know if it works—no one needs calming more than moi!,); gorgeous handmade bracelets from Denizen BKLYN, (my hometown!, but please note the exact spelling here, or else you’ll get the site of a bar!,); beard oil from Mane Tame, (which I wish more “manly men” would use!,); Beaute Wise’s fabulous dual eyeliner pen; Spa Ceylon’s Sleep Calming Balm, which Mr. X and I will bathe in, (even though that’s not one of the ways to use it); and my most needed product right now—Morgan Taylor’s cuticle oil. Whew! There were no work-out goodies in there because just lifting the bag was work-out enough!
I’m sure that each guest at Red Carpet Events LA’s Grammys Lounge felt as though he or she had won their own Grammys with all these gifts! And some of us, (my hand is raised,) can’t even sing!
