SECRET ROOM EVENTS STYLE LOUNGE IN HONOR OF THE 2019 MTV MOVIE & TV AWARDS

By now, it’s no secret how much I love all of Secret Room Events’ gift lounges! And this one, which was in honor of the MTV Movie and TV Awards, was no exception.

It was held once again in the spacious ballroom of the lovely InterContinental Hotel in Century City. My contributing writer for these festivities was Roz, who loves working with me on all Secret Room Events’ lounges; she dubbed this “one of their best” that she’s ever been to! She said of it, “Everyone was happy, and the displays were beautiful.” She told me that she especially appreciated “the calm vibe,” as did I.

I didn't even do this on purpose, (or it would have been a much better pic, photographically,) but everyone I mention in the text below is in it! (L-R) The cute guy holding the baby is Anna's baby daddy, the woman in the middle (in the chair) is Abby Lee Miller, and the red-headed girl on the very right, with all the bags, is Anna Trebunskaya! I noticed many familiar show biz faces in the crowd, but my fave was Anna Trebunskaya from Dancing With The Stars. She remembered me from the previous Secret Room Events lounge, and introduced me to her handsome baby daddy. And I give mobility-challenged Dance MomsAbby Lee Miller so much credit for making the effort to come out for it, despite her recent health issues. She looked great, and was smiling the entire time!

Actually, all the guests looked happy while discovering these great gifts! Here are the highlights of what Roz and I found there:

Bewaltz—I could not rush over to this table fast enough! I saw it from all the way across the ballroom! Everything was in pink and light blue metallics, even the curtains backing the presentation! OMG! My mouth could not stop watering at all this beauty. Roz said, “The adorable display made your eyes pop! There were brilliant colorful designs for all kinds of uses.” They showed us make-up cases, fanny packs (in two sizes,) tote bags, and even purses!!! I have no idea how anyone decided which gift to choose! Personally, I wanted them all!!!  www.bewaltz.com

Yulu Toys—This fun company was giving everyone not one but two gifts! Snapstar is a great line of dolls, each adorably attired and with her own mini cell phone. Roz points-out that there’s even “an app that kids can use to create backdrops for fun-filled fashion, beauty, and music.” They also gifted PopPops, which ooze slime when you pop them open. I swear—it’s so satisfying! And adorable teensy figures are hidden in every few of the poppers, for even more fun! They had to pry me away from that table! No lie. www.yulutoys.com

Pure Trim—This multi-product company had perhaps the biggest presence in the room! Their tables were jam-packed with great items. The snack bars are super-delicious; Roz says they’re a “chocoholic’s way to have a quick meal and stay in great shape!” She tried-out the Pure Gardens organic face and body skin serum, and said, “It goes on easily, and made my skin feel soft and supple.” They also had three beverages: Joint Tea is vegan, so that made a fan of tennis player Roz. As a gal whose metabolism has recently slowed-down, I was happy to discover their Metabolism Iced Fruit Tea Supplement, whose passion fruit flavor is actually delish, so I’ll be encouraged to drink it daily. And lastly, Roz says their plant-based Mediterranean Wellness Shake should be a vegan’s go-to for weight loss. She sums-up the entire Pure Trim line this way: “It’s a brilliant line of nutritional products.” www.puretrim.com

Skinfive By Ava MD—This Century City dermatologist was gifting a choice of two treatments in her office. There’s either the Uplifter, which is micro-needling for the face, or Emsculpt, to make the abs or butt look better. How were all the show biz guests to decide between the much-sought-after procedures??? All of us need (or at least want) both! www.skinfive.com

Zatik Skin Essentials—This skincare company has soooo many different products! Roz especially loves their ones that combat dry skin. She says the Gratitude Face Serum is “rich with ingredients that make skin feel fresh and full again.” And adds that the Solar Mineral Sunscreen is “perfect at this time of year because it doesn’t clog pores the way heavy sunscreens do, and it glides onto arms and face easily.” I’m all about their unscented deodorant, which I wish everybody would use! www.zatiknatural.com

MisMack—This make-up creator from Canada, Missy MacKintosh, is a girl after my own heart—I noticed her sparkly eye shadow and nail polish from across the room! It turns-out that she was rocking her own line of environmentally-friendly glitter on both! Each guest received her or his (don’t judge) choice of seven shades, along with a little pot of lip gloss (which doubles as a primer to help the eye glitter stay in place,) and a moisture-locking lipstick from the line. Now I just have to talk her into moving to LA. And becoming My New Best Friend! www.mismack.com

Master Poop Toilet Plunger—This one is a riot; their display was the hit of the lounge! It’s not only a, how shall I put it?–“decorative” toilet plunger (look at the pic to the left for your own description of it,) but the top of the handle holds a roll of toilet paper and… glows in the dark! Oh my. On top of all that, (but literally on the bottom of the works,) is a “drip tray,” to keep your floor clean! How fun was it to see all the guests walk around the stunning lobby of this classy hotel carrying poop emoji plungers?! www.misterpoop.com

Muscle Mx—As someone with bad knees and an even worse back, I was happy to learn about this duo of CBD balms that work in tandem to help keep muscle pain at bay. You use Activate before beginning activities and Recovery post-workout to cool the muscles down. And you just rub them on, (like a deodorant,) so your hands never have to deal with the balms, (unless that’s where you have your pain—then go for it!)  www.musclemx.com

Nani—This company from Poland was gifting their Face and Body Ritual Natural cream. I rarely see a product that works on both the face and the body, so this was a good one to learn about. Roz loved that it’s vegan-based, and said it has “a delightful feel and smell.” And I was thrilled that someone was smart enough to provide an unscented option, for allergic peeps such as myself. I agree with Roz’s assessment that their on-site rep was “so nice.”  www.nani.com.pl

Petorama—Every dog-loving guest gravitated over to this table of handmade life-like canine figurines, that are complete with underside features, if you get my drift! There are several sizes, including a few that looked real, but, of course, I had eyes for only the absolutely adorable teensy ones that looked like my precious late Clarence, The Singing Dog. Even better is that they can customize them to look like your dog! So now I just need a white toy poodle whose tongue hangs to one side! www.pet-orama.com

Dalcini—Everything was so shiny on this table that I thought it was little mirrors. But it turned-out to be beautiful stainless steel barware! This Canadian company gifted straws made from that material, (which is the socially-conscious thing to have nowadays. And the package even includes a brush for cleaning them!) Each guest also received a petite shaker with a smaller-sized container, both also made of the same heavy-duty steel, of course. www.dalcinistainless.com

Sticky Heelz—These ingenious products are for all girls who rock high heels. (And for Pose’s Billy Porter, too—did you see him work those stilettos in a commercial break on the Tonys last week-end??? OMG!) One item is a duo of pieces that you stick to the inside of the back part of the shoe to hold your foot in better. And then there’s the even more-important (to me) Teardrop Arch Support, which you attach to the shoe where the ball of your foot lands, (and often goes numb. Or is that just me?) Roz and I agree that these are perfect for people “who want their shoes to fit right” and be comfortable. www.stickyheelz.com

Blue Saint Self-Tanner—We both enjoyed meeting Aryanna, the young founder of this company, who was rocking her own lovely tan. Roz says, “Now that warmer weather is here, I know this product will be popular” so that so we can save our skin from the ravages of the sun while still looking fab. But the beautiful peeps don’t need to wait for good weather–fake tans are in all year ’round! www.bluesaint.com

Minute Relief Joint and Muscle Pain-Relief Spray—As girls with pains all over our bodies, we’re both already fans of this amazing pain-relief spray! Roz advises, “We all need the relief from joint pain from time to time, and this one really works. I can’t play tennis without it. Or live without it, for that matter! It’s a great product because it works really fast.” What she said. www.greekislandlabs.com

Kate Mesta Jewelry—Each guest received a decorative dog tag on a chain from Kate Mesta as soon as we arrived. And then when we met them, her team explained that the company has partnered with the Spera Foundation, which provides awareness and education about heart disease and sudden cardiac arrest. To that end, the tags they were gifting inside the lounge feature the words “Heart of Gold” on them. www.katemesta.com  www.sperafoundaiton.us

Figpin—This collectible pin company was gifting their Miles Morales pin, from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which swept the awards for animation this season! (So therefore, actual collectors might not be the only ones interested in this one.) If you’d rather display them on a table, (as opposed to your wardrobe,) the package includes a sort-of kickstand. Roz gushed, “What a cool way to keep up to date with the latest SciFi phenomena!”  www.figpin.com

True Made Foods—This company makes condiments, such as ketchup and barbecue sauce, with either no or less sugar than the norm. We sampled them right on the spot, and Roz deemed the more-healthful flavors to be “terrific.” She told me they had her at “less sugar than regular ketchup.” I brought a sample to ketchup-purist Mr. X, who marveled that he could not tell the difference from the higher-calorie stuff!!! www.truemadefoods.com

Think Alkaline—This water filter company was showing us how to test the PH balance of the drinking water in our homes. To remind you of them, they gave each guest a stainless steel bottle, which Mr. X always says are so much better to drink out of than the usual plastic ones! And it was accompanied by a tiny bottle of a solution with which to test your own house water.  www.thinkalkaline.com

CocaBee Lip Balm—Roz said this lime-flavored all-natural lip balm smelled great! And the outside is much more attractive than most of the ones on the market. They even gifted them in little woven pouches!  www.cocabee.com

As always, this Secret Room Events lounge benefitted a charity. The one this time was DoVE Project, which stands for Dogs of Violence Exposed. It’s so sad that the world still needs them, but it’s a non-profit organization that supports the end of the deplorable dog meat trade in Asia. And to melt our hearts, they had a few dogs right in the lounge, whom they had brought over from Asia. I’m sure several people wanted to adopt those cuties! www.dove-project.org

On top of all that, each VIP guest received a huge Secret Room Events signature bag, filled to the brim with even more goodies! Here are the highlights of the one I had the privilege to look into:

A stunning black blouse (or swimsuit cover-up–I’ll let you decide) by Vix Paula Hermanny; a pair of sunglasses for each gender—one for the men by Fetch, and one for the women by Zenni; comfy Thorlo socks; The Gods luxury washcloth for the face; a whole bunch of intimate care products from Exsens; a Soul Shropshire’s candle in limited edition “Relax”; Purenew supplement packs for the skin; Kic Start family card game; a dual-purpose face and body wash from RevealU Skincare; Cherry Blooms Cosmetics’ famous eyebrow kits; Espresso Yourself’s Star Body bronzing oil; L-Tyrosine supplements from Life Choice Ltd.; Spot Wipes from TBH Kids, to help with their inevitable break-outs; a bag of Dr. Daltons Premium Treats for dogs; the Cocktail Farty card game for adults (duh!); and a little Hometown Candle Company candle, whose lid commemorates the occasion!

That’s enough gifts for ten gifting lounges, all rolled into one fabulous one from Secret Room Events! The MTV Movie and TV Awards themselves cannot be as exciting as all this!
