PLEASE VOTE FOR IMAN SHUMPERT AND DANIELLA KARAGACH ON DANCING WITH THE STARS TONIGHT (AND EVERY MONDAY NIGHT!)

Former pro basketball player Iman Shumpert and his professional dancer partner Daniella Karagach are by far the best duo on Dancing With The Stars this season! And, in my opinion, the only reason to watch this year. I’ve been worried that, because the judges always give them the lowest scores, they’d be off the show soon, and then what would become of my Monday nights? (Oh wait—I almost forgot the title of my own e-zine—Its Not About Me!)

Iman may not be the best dancer on there, (actually, no “may” about it,) but he most definitely is the most entertaining. Perhaps ever! He’s the only one Mr. X and I look forward to each week, especially in this beyond-bland season, and he never disappoints. And he’s had absolutely no previous dance experience whatsoever, while at least three of the women left are professional dancers, one’s an Olympic-winning gymnast, and Jimmie Allen is a singer and performer who’s had to move on stage for years. And I’m sure the young daughter of those college cheaters has had dance training, as every little girl has, especially if their ‘rents are rich!

Daniella is the best and most ingeniousness choreographer that Dancing With The Stars has had since Derek Hough!!! (But of course she’s great—not only are she and I both from Brooklyn, we’re also fellow Capricorns! Yay us.) (Oops—I forgot again that Its Not About Me!)

And I love that they’re not trying to do that fake flirting the show encourages all the contestants to do—Iman and Dani both clearly adore their own spouses. As every Bachelor and Bachelorette contestant says about absolutely everything, I love that!

It would be a shame if that team left before the finale where, judging from their performances so far, I assume their freestyle dance will be the best one ever!

So we’ve got to help them, my trusty readers, even though last week, miracle of miracles, Iman and Dani received a perfect score! Judge Derek Hough even said he would have given them an eleven if he could!

But I don’t want anyone to think that means that Iman and Dani will be safe going forward. They seem to consistently be the audience’s favorites, but that doesn’t always transfer to votes. So to not take any chances, I’m begging everyone to vote for them tonight, even if you don’t watch the show!

That is correct—I’m asking you all to do something in not the “fair” way, even though it’s to make sure there’s a fair outcome!!!

First let me tell you how to vote, and then I’ll elaborate on the above concept:

One of Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach's other amazing numbers.

One of Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach’s other amazing numbers.

There are two ways to vote, and you can vote for Iman and Dani ten times on each method.

To me, the easiest way is online, at www.dwtsvote.abc.com. If you’re a new voter, you’ll have to sign up with your email address. (I think a fake one works, as well.) And then just press the votes under the picture of Iman and Dani until it says “10.” Then make sure to click “Save Your Votes.” I think you have to click on it in the two places they ask for it. But it’s super-easy; if I can do it, anyone can!

If you’re better with text, (which I am not,) just text IMAN to 21523.

If you’re voting without watching the show, (which is uber-unfair, but it’s the fault of the powers-that-be over there, which I’ll get to in a minute,) you can vote anytime after 8PM east coast time, (which is 5PM pacific time,) for the next hour and fifty minutes, before the end of the show, of course.

But you must do it tonight!!! (And then every Monday night until the week of Thanksgiving, if, knock on wood, Iman and Dani stay on until the end.)

I thank you so much for doing this.

Now, here’s the explanation of DWTS‘s unfair voting, which I’m trying to do my small part to rectify with this article:

Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach. No one has ever risked this move in the history of the series!

Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach. No one has ever risked this move in the history of the series!

Since the series stopped having a next-night results show a few years ago, the voting rules have been horrible. They don’t even let half the country see the dances before voting! You have to vote the night the show is on and before it’s over because those results are for that night only. So everyone out of the eastern time zone is basically screwed, (unless, as I’m asking you to do, they vote blindly.) It’s soooo unfair.

We should not be allowed to vote each Monday night before all the dances have been performed; that’s just not right. And then, after seeing all the dances and voting fairly, the lowest-ranked duo should be eliminated the following week.

But alas, there seems to no one at DWTS with a *lightbulb over his or head, so we’re stuck with this idiocy. (*Obviously. Or else Tyra Banks would have been eliminated from hosting already!)

So, the way the voting works is that at the end of each episode, the judges scores are combined with the audience votes that have come in that night.

Look--Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach can also do the waltz!

Look–Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach can also do the waltz!

We hope the scores they hand-out are the highest for Iman and Dani, but we cannot leave it up to the judges. A few seasons ago, the producers instituted the policy of having the judges decide which team of the bottom two is the one to be eliminated because that dreadful contestant, Bobby Bones, kept staying in the competition on his fans votes alone, which was ridiculous. So now when it gets down to the bottom two, they leave it up to the judges. I usually love and respect Derek Hough and Len Goodman, but when the pair of them eliminated Spice Girl Mel C, who was terrific, over that bland cheater-daughter, I was done of them. And I never want them to have that power over adorable, charming, trying-his-hardest Iman.

So if you care about fairness in this world, or even just dance, please, please, please vote for Iman and Dani. I promise, they really deserve to stay in this competition until the end. (If you’ve never seen their incredible performances, just watch their Horror Night dance right here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XD1OqozHUYU. You will love it!)

Here’s my reminder again of how to vote for them:

And thank you sooo much for helping to make at least one tiny thing right in this world!
