MY 2,500TH INAM COLUMN!!!!!

This is my 2,500th column for ItsNotAboutMe.TV! (AKA: INAM.) Even I can’t believe it! And I’ve seen myself write them all!

I feel like Minnesota Timberwolf Karl-Anthony Townes during the recent basketball play-offs when he claimed that he shoots an astonishing fifteen hundred shots a day, which all the commentators pooh-poohed, saying that’s just not possible. And writing 2,500 articles seems like the same impossibility for yours truly.

But it is, indeed, true. If the pandemic hadn’t hit, there would have actually been many more by now because INAM was a five-days-a-week publication prior to the middle of March 2020. But it was difficult to keep that up when there was nothing happening in the outside world to write about! Am I right or am I right?

So I had to cut back to just two or three columns a week during that siege, and write mainly essays or about sports.

But we’ve been back on track and running right on time for a while now, even though I got sort-of used to the luxury of not having to work as hard as I had been doing for years before life slowed down for most of us. (Except for first responders and essential personnel, of course.) So now I’m extremely grateful to have the world-at-large back and vibrant again. There are sooo many shows and events to review for you now, in addition to the plethora of gossip and gifting.

The only category I haven’t gotten back to fully yet is restaurant reviews because I’m still a bit paranoid about other people touching my food. And not just the preparers and servers—when my posse and I review, we all share. That’s how we’ve been doing it for decades, ever since the very first episode of my former TV show, Karen’s Restaurant Revue! The thought of someone else’s fork digging into my dinner is scary now. But, for all you fans of my original reporting purpose in life, I’m happy to remind you that I began doing restaurant reviews again just this week! I hope you read it. And now I must end this self-congratulatory missive because…I have to get cracking on my next 2,500!
