HOLIDAY: HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2022

HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2022

Mr. X has been asking me when Thanksgiving is for the past few weeks. He can’t seem to wrap his head around the fact that it will already be here tomorrow!

My favorite crew!

My favorite crew!

And I have a feeling many of you have been experiencing the same thing recently. The early 2022 holiday feels just a bit out of whack.

Last year at this time, I was preparing to have my first garage sale in years. In the actual garage! It turned-out to be very successful, and fun, for everybody, (which includes friends, helpers, neighbors, buyers, people who just stopped by, even the hermetic Mr. X, and me, too, of course!)

I wish I had thought of doing it on Thanksgiving week-end again this year, but it occurred to me too late to get it all done. So instead, my three extra days of the holiday break will be filled with cleaning the house, (and garage, in case I have a sale before the December holidays,) health check-ups that Mr. X and I have needed all year, (and, of course, waited until the last minute to get done,) and getting started on our now decade-long holiday tradition of…watching stupid Christmas movies! (We actually already watched a few, and this new crop is worse than ever! We may have to find a new tradition.)

This is similar to the beautiful dinner that Mr. X and I will treated to at the home of Fred Deni and Jim Crystal.

This is similar to the beautiful dinner that Mr. X and I will treated to at the home of Fred Deni and Jim Crystal, (except for that one strange piece of uber-yellow cauliflower in the middle, knock on wood!)

But don’t feel at all bad for me–I’m actually starting the fun today, doing two activities that all of you can still do for the rest of this year! First I’ll be attending the opening festivities for the Pershing Square Ice Rink, and then segueing over to the King Tut immersive exhibit at The Magic Box, which should be easy enough because both events are in the hipper areas of downtown LA. Each one will get its own individual in-depth write-up here next week, but I wanted to let you know about them right now, so you can use part of this easy-going, (after the actual dinner tomorrow, that is,) week to enjoy them, too.

I’ll also be making pumpkin chocolate chip pancakes, and a pumpkin-pepita dessert, just to keep the good Fall meal vibes going. And gathering wonderful items for holiday donations.

But most of all, I will be giving thanks for all my blessings. Seriously. I actually do that just about every day of my life, but especially on Thanksgiving. Of course. Even having lots of problems, (don’t ask,) I always try to look at the bright side, and I’m grateful for every little good thing I have.

Here's a little reminder.

I hope that all of you also have good and great things in your lives, and that you, too, will have a lot to give thanks for this holiday. And that you will remember to do so, tomorrow especially.

All that’s left to do now is to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! Stay safe out there. And try to not overeat!!!
