SECRET ROOM EMMYS 2011

I arrived back in LA right between Emmys suites, so I was able to get to only three of them this time. But I made my choices count and found some wonderful products to tell you about. There were some fun celebrity sightings as well.  Each suite will get its own write-up over the next three days, so please check all of them so you don’t miss out on anything.

I’m going in the order I attended them, so let’s begin with Secret Room, which was held at the classy L’Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills this time.

Brothers In Arms stars, Karen Salkin and Antwon Tanner.

A highlight of the suite was hanging out with a cast-mate of mine from Brothers In Arms, Antwon Tanner, (also of One Tree Hill fame.)  The film was a period western (just my style of acting, right?,) and we got to know each other over two intense weeks of filming the big bank robbery scene where he and his on-screen brother hold my character hostage and [SPOILER ALERT, like any of you are ever going to see it!,] eventually kill me.  [END OF SPOILER ALERT.] He was the nicest one on the set, and I was happy to see he’s exactly the same now. He had a couple of gorgeous family members with him, too.

Here are the highlights of the gifts, with some comments provided by one of my trusty assistants, Vanessa:

Bogace Jeans

Bogace Jeans–Vanessa said, “The flashy stitching will be great fun to wear with a pair of strappy heels to go out dancing. And the stretchy, very soft denim looks like it will feel great on the skin.” What she said. www.bogace.com

Derma Esthetics Skincare—this fabulous skincare line from our own Beverly Hills comes in two formulas, skin brightening and anti-aging, of which I need both!  The cleanser, with mineral oil, looks like the most luxurious one of its kind. www.dermaestheticsusa.com

Whitening Lightning Teeth Whitener–girls with very white teeth gave-out teeth whitening kits so we can all look as fabulous as they do. And this company also makes a whitening pen that fits neatly into a purse, no matter how small. And, since my motto is “you should never change anything about your face except teeth,” I think everyone should have one! Especially if they’re British. www.whiteninglightning.com

D'eonli Designs

D’eonli Designs–all this jewelry was gorgeous!  I loved the subtly sparkly bracelets and classy diamond-esque earrings, that stay on without an earring back! Beautiful and clever—jewelry just like me! www.deonli.com

Brazilian Peel—this at-home facial peel is professional strength. Anyone who’s planning on attending the Summer Olympics in Rio in a few years should maybe get started now, to fit right in with the gorgeous brazilain women.www.advancedhomeactives.com

Toby and Max Bracelet—they were gifting lovely silver bracelets inscribed with “Be good to yourself” on one side and “Simplify” on the other, two lessons I sorely need to learn!  They also have a dog version, (I assume for people to be good to dogs, not the dogs to themselves, which I think is what ball-licking is all about,) and give a portion of their revenue to the Humane Society, who was the charity of the Secret Room Suite.  Vanessa  deemed the bracelets to be “beauty with a conscience.”  You can’t do better than that. www.tobyandmax.com

Sasha Pellow Jewelry

Sasha Pellow Jewelry—a welcome addition to the affordable jewelry game, this artist’s gift was an antique bronze chain with a Buddha charm that’s a replica of one from the 1940s, highlighted by a clear tear drop facet that’s thrown in for good measure. And good luck, I’m assuming! www.sashapellow.com

PumaWatch—to make us aware of our health, and not just fashion, they were giving women pink sports watches, from their Project Pink campaign (to help fight breast cancer,) while men received ones with heart rate monitors. Very honorable gifts, in my opinion. www.puma.com

My Dreambag Wristlet–this company, that’s known for their beautiful leather purses, was gifting sweet little wrist purselets that are perfect for clubs. www.mydreambagboutique.com

Lotty Dotty Tee Shirts–these tees feature what is essentially a paper doll whose separately-sold outfits Velcro right on to the front.  Very cute. www.lottydotty.com

Posh AQ Silks

Posh AQ Silks–this company was showing one-of-kind, hand-painted, silk outfits, but easy-to-please me was fixated on a black and white textured scarf. www.poshaq.com

Youngblood Cosmetics—this company was giving guests a choice of a mineral powder blush with kabuki brush or a shiny lip gloss; kind-of a make-up Sophie’s Choice. www.ybskin.com

Ballerina Book–a former ballerina was giving away a beautiful book about the iconic holiday ballet, The Nutcracker. It made me wish it was already December! www.growingthrougharts.com
