WOW CREATIONS EMMYS GIFTING SUITE 2024

Since this year’s Emmys Awards crept up on me, (because they’ve always taken place in September, but the writers’ and SAG strikes prevented that in 2023,) I had time for just one Emmys gifting suite this year. And I chose to make it the Wow Creations one.

I’m always happy to be introduced to a new venue in town, and that’s just what the Harris twins did for me this time. The old Redbird Hotel in Hollywood is now the Aster Hotel; I had been to many an event in that edifice back in the day, (before the ownership and name change,) but this was the first time I had ever been up on the roof there. And what a great venue for a party it is!

This picture came on the invitation, and the one at the top of this page is the one Laura Saul took of the real thing. Pretty similar!

My co-writer, Laura, and I were very impressed the second we stepped off the elevator. She said, “Immersed in the enchanting ambiance of a Hollywood boutique hotel’s rooftop, the event unfolded against the backdrop of the iconic Capitol Records building. The weather for the event could not have been more perfect. It was a crisp, cool-but-sunny, perfect LA afternoon. Everyone was in a good mood and ready to celebrate.”

There were a plethora of skincare products, which, as a birthday girl two days later, (meaning my year-older visage may be in need of a bit of help,) I really appreciated.

Here are the highlights of those items and the others we discovered there, most of them new to us:

Big Mouth Toothbrush—Not only were we happy to learn about this new, easy electric toothbrush, (which the rest of the country did on Shark Tank,) but the female dentist who created it is gorgeous!  She’s a great advertisement for her own product. Laura explains, “Dr. Bobbi is a force to be reckoned with; she has successfully created a toothbrush that goes above and beyond what existing electric toothbrushes offer. Her innovation has not only broken barriers, but has also addressed the shortcomings of conventional oral care products.” www.bigmouthtoothbrush.com

Bluelene—This skincare company was gifting a variety of their products. Both of us were already fans, so we were interested to come upon a couple of their new products. Laura perused the Serum Plus+, and tells us, “It’s reassuring to note that this product is free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, triclosan, petrolatum, and mineral oil.” With my birthday arriving two days later, I was the most interested in learning about their brand new Face & Neck Remodel Mask, which helps contour jawlines. I have a feeling that all over-forty bday gals should be checking it out with me! www.bluelene.com

Dorothy Mae & Dominga—This company really did it right! Not only was their gift of a few skincare products—an everyday serum, a shea butter moisturizer, a chocolate facial mask, along with what Laura calls “a very cute dish and spoon intended for mixing up the mask”—appreciated, but the rep boxed it all up fresh for each guest! Laura told me she “loved the presentation!”  She explains, “It made the recipients feel like they were getting a custom-made skincare gift on the spot.”  The pleasant rep also included very detailed instructions on how to use her products. Laura declared, “It’s little things like this—going the extra step—that show how much she cares about her products.” www.dmdskinlove.com

ēcōMD Skin Care—This skincare line was offering an aptly-named gift—the “Glam Bag Trio/Award Show Special.” It consists of Vegan Retinol Serum, Revitalizing Eye Cream, and Botanical Exfoliant.  Laura did some research on it, and found-out that it used to be “available to only dermatologists, medispas, and skincare professionals!” So how lucky are we of the hoi polloi to be able to get our hands on it now?! www.ecomdskincare.com

House of Orange—Laura says she “loves following this company on social media” because she enjoys learning “how they formulate their products, and seeing their dedication to creating products that resonate with nature’s purity. From carefully selected ingredients to the final presentation, there’s a tangible authenticity in everything they share.” Their gift this time was a cleansing powder made from pitaya and hibiscus, with a cute little wooden spoon to dish it out. www.houseoforangeco.com

G.L.A.M. Body Scrubs—A former Administrative Law Judge founded this company after several life changes.  She was as happy to let us all in on her journey as the guests were to receive her Bubblin’ Brown Sugar Body Scrubs! www.amarraglambodyproducts.com

Iron Lace Jewels—This artisan jewelry company was showing their complete line on-site, and gifting an anklet in a choice of silver or gold-tones. Laura said, “I’ve never really been one to wear an anklet, and I didn’t know why until I saw the ones on offer here—it’s because, prior to theirs, I had seen only delicate and minimalist ones. But these are bold, chunky and fun!” I am an ankle bracelet girl, so I was really happy to discover these. www.ironlacejewels.com

Brenda’s Botanicals—This company that’s based in New Mexico—in Santa Fe and Taos, two of Mr. X’s favorite places—was gifting a little bag of incense sticks along with a small botanical salve made from the sap of the piñon tree. Laura said, “I love that I was able to learn about this magical tree that comes from such a beautiful part of our country.” www.brendasbotanicalstaos.com

Chocolatier Eve—Laura says, “The display of this Malibu-based chocolatier featured beautiful colorful chocolate confections; they grabbed my attention right away. Each chocolate looked like a little jewel. I was lucky enough to sample a piece, and the taste matched the decadent appearance.” www.chocolatiereve.com

Central Cali Caregivers—Regular readers may know that my broken back swears by this company’s Miracle Healing Rub, so I’m always happy to see them again at Wow’s events. Laura was more interested in learning about their new-ish Optimal Rush Medicated Eye Drops that are purported to help with various visual issues. In more good news, the rep mentioned to Laura that they’ve even improved the formula recently. www.centralcalicaregivers.net

Awakening to the Fifth Dimension—The author of this book, Kimberly Meredith, was on-site, autographing her guides to the Fifth Dimension for everyone. We’ll have to check it out because the only 5th Dimension I knew previously is the old school singing group! The tagline of the book is “Discovering the Soul’s Path to Healing,” so it should be interesting.  www.thehealingtrilogy.com

How to Set Your Sail and Let God Provide the Wind—No, this book by Trung K. Vu is not about sailing. Laura explains it’s “a motivational guide emphasizing the importance of aligning one’s life with a higher purpose.” The author attempts to assist readers in discovering their purpose, setting goals, and planning their lives, with an emphasis on help from God, which most people can always use.

I don’t yet if I’m going to live-tweet the Emmys tonight, but I promise to try. If you don’t already follow me on there, now is the time! I’m @MajorCelebrity on there. Of course.
