SECRET ROOM EVENTS LOUNGE IN HONOR OF THE 2018 MTV MOVIE & TV AWARDS

Secret Room Events outdid themselves once again! Their recent Gifting Lounge in honor of the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards was exciting from beginning to end! I was exhausted by the time I finished discovering all the gifts the celebs were receiving.

This one took place at Century City’s beautiful InterContinental Hotel. The valet parkers and hotel personnel could not have been lovelier to me, as always. They make it a pleasure to go there for any event.

Once inside, all one had to do was follow the the sound of the upbeat hubbub, along with the smiling faces of all the beautiful people who were rocking tons of gift bags, to find-out where all the Secret Room Events action was.

It was bustling from the get-go. I don’t think any other gifting suite (as these events are usually referred to in the biz) ever doles out as many gifts as Secret Room Events does! Right at check-in were dozens of products the guests could help themselves to before they even met all the sponsors! And the items were continually changed throughout the day. (I only wish I had thought to grab a bag of popcorn on my way in because it was all gone when I exited. And it looked yummy, too!)

I began my visit to the lounge with a health boost, and ended with an equally helpful-to-my-body one. Here are those two services I received:

Labb Beauty Bar—This company’s Nurse Ashley was doing the one thing I was really in need of that day: a Vitamin B12 injection! Those are supposed to help with fatigue, and the moment I saw how many sponsors Secret Room Events had for us to meet, I knew I would need that extra shot of energy to get through them all! www.botoxlabb.com

Bao Foot Spa—This spa’s business cards say, “You need to relax,” and I feel they came up with that slogan just for me! Even though “foot” is right in their moniker, they were on-site doing backs-and-shoulders chair massages for all us weary gift-gatherers. I didn’t even take that many items, because my poor fractured back could not handle the heavy-lifting, but I was still thrilled with my mini-massage, as I’m sure all the guests were who were queueing-up for theirs. www.baofootspa.com

Now let’s get to the highlights of the tangible gifts:

PortoVino Wine Purse—I love, love, love this company! They have the greatest, most clever bags and purses. Their catchphrase is “Bring the party along,” and that’s exactly what they enable you to do. Not only are these bags uber-attractive, but they have a secret—there’s a pouch inside and a hidden spout outside so you can just pour yourself a glass of wine whenever you like, without taking out a bottle like a wino! I knew of their sturdy purses and fun striped canvas beach bags bags before, but I just learned about their fabulous Messenger Bags! This one is not only very sophisticated in appearance, but, in addition to holding your wine, and regular purse essentials, your laptop also fits in there!!! That’s what I call versatile. www.porto-vino.com

Ccilu Footwear—I woke-up that day thinking of how cool little white sneakers would look with the dress I was planning to wear, and lo and behold, there they were, right at this lounge. This is a new company to me, and let me tell you—all of their casual footwear is fabulous!!! Both men’s and women’s. As a girl who lives her life in sneaks and the like, this will be my go-to company from now on! (I just wish I had asked them how they pronounce their crazy name!) www.ccilu.com

Sabre Red—This personal security gadgets company was gifting many items from their safety line, but the Pepper Gel Kit is one of the most brilliant products I’ve ever seen, one that absolutely everyone should own! In it is not only an actual pepper gel spray, but also—get ready for this–a practice spray! And a target! You fill it with water and see how to use it, so you don’t have to learn when you need it! Even Mr. X was impressed by it, and he likes nothing! Sabre goes the extra mile for our safety, and I sooo appreciate that! www.sabrered.com

Sizzix—I ran right over to this table to get a closer look at all the adorable little items on it. And I found-out that regular people…can make these themselves!!! With the help of this company, of course. They have products for scrapbookers, crafters, quilters, and even jewelry-makers! Each guest received a giant kit with everything they could possibly need to make one of the projects for themselves. Now, if only the company could create…someone more qualified than I to do it all for me! I think my artwork stops at coloring within the lines. www.sizzix.com

Maglite Flashlights—I often call Mr. X “Mr. Flashlight” because he’s so enamored of the devices. And Maglite is his favorite brand!!! It’s the one gift in life that we give each other with confidence, knowing the other will appreciate it. Speaking of gifts, at this event, their rep was making all the guests happy with their giant silver flashlights, that, I swear, could double as weapons! They definitely look like something that every homeowner in every scary movie should be rocking! But I was more in love with the little weeny ones that come in the gift box. They’re as adorable as they are powerful. www.maglite.com

One Condoms—I’m usually not attracted to condoms, but the ones from this company are so colorful and varied that I was drawn right over to their table! When I told their young rep, (who didn’t look old enough to even know about condoms yet, so good for her,) that I love the New York City ones, (because of their name and designs,) she lit right up, telling me that One makes those, as well! For people who should be using them, this company features many sizes, which is just brilliant, and about time! (Whew—I’ve never written so many words about condoms in all my years of life combined!!!) www.onecondoms.com

Makelab—I totally do not understand 3D printing at all, but this company is from my native Brooklyn, so I was happy to meet them. And their gifts were really cute. I still don’t know how they were made, but the very colorful miniature planters, along with adorable planter pendants, are so attractive. And the pièces de résistance were the small pieces of chocolate manufactured the same way! www.makelab.nyc

Mama Taylor’s Treats—I think that, by now, my regular readers know what a fan of this fudge-maker my pals and I are. I always love seeing her at an event. In addition to how delish the fudge is, I’ve often lauded Mama Taylor for changing up her beautiful gift boxes each event go-round. And this time was no different. She had bigger boxes with wide pretty bows. www.mamataylorstreats.com

Farm Fresh Pet Foods—It cracked me up a bit to see pet treats referred to as “farm fresh,” but the rep explained to me that they wanted to make food for our furry friends that’s basically good enough for people. And this company was born! I’m sure that the pets of all the celebs there will never be happy with any other brand of jerky again! www.farmfreshpetfoods.com

Welch’s—This company’s most inviting display greeted us as we entered. I thought it was pink champagne, and the beauty of it all made me wish that I drink! When they offered it to me, and I declined to have a cocktail at that hour, they explained that it’s not alcohol!!! What they were offering is their latest sparkling beverage—non-alcoholic Sparkling Rose! What fun for teetotalers like myself who still want to hold a glass of something pretty. www.welchs.com

Hedlux—This hair care company was gifting their Copperhed leave-in spray. The rep told me that it helps slow down grays, and thinning hair, too! Thank goodness I have enough hair for ten people (as hairdressers always tell me,) but I’m sure that some day in the future I will be grateful for my auburn tresses to stay that color! www.hedlux.com

Franciscan Wine—I don’t think I’ve ever said this about wines before, but I love the beautiful labels on the bottles from this winery’s “Favorites” collection! I don’t drink, but since I heard that the taste of the wines is as attractive as the exterior, I just may pay a visit to their Napa Valley headquarters! www.franciscan.com

Enso Rings—These colorful little silicone rings are not just for children. I recently saw a policeman (don’t ask) wearing one as his wedding band! All the guests at this lounge wanted to “stack” them, which I consider the best way to wear these sweet little rings. www.ensorings.com

Bubblelingo—This happy-looking company gave-out tote bags and tee-shirts with their colorful, cheerful logo on them. That seemed to put the guests in a good mood right away. www.bubblelingo.com

Rock Wall Wines–I don’t drink, but all the guests were clamoring to taste this Northern California winery’s products. The assemblage seemed happy with the samples, and the presentation was so pretty, that I almost wanted to join them! www.rockwallwines.com

Even with all that going on in the ballroom, the Secret Room Events Style Lounge still gave the VIP guests a humongous bag filled to the brim with even more gifts as they left the event!!! Good thing those LL Bean bags were extremely heavy-duty!!!

I got a peek inside one, and here are the highlights of what I found:

A pair of artistic fingerless gloves, in all black with ruby buttons up the sides, from Boho by Moe Munroe, which is my absolute favorite thing I saw all day!; Bea & Izzy’s stunning fancy dress for a little girl; one of Anastasia’s famous “Glow” contour kits; Towel Tails’ creative “step-in” towel, to bring out one’s inner mermaid; facial oil from luxury skincare line, Amorepacific; Chuties colorful tote bags; Crane humidifiers in cute animal shapes for children’s rooms (or mine!); multiple cute pairs of socks from both Woven Pear and ThorloDr. Hess products to help with super-dry skin;  4Ever Magic Cosmetics’ eyebrow kit, in a really pretty package; Hasbro’s Dropmix Game, for budding music mixers; Banz’s children’s protective headphones, which are always a good idea to use; SoundSocks headphone covers, so that one’s sweat and grime does not ruin their headphones, (and also to make it easier for me to look at them without getting nauseous!); LoveBug Probiotics tablets to help with gut health; and the product we all need the absolute most after that amazing event–Punch Gunk “tough stuff for the rough stuff” pain-relief cream!

There was actually much more in the bag, but if I listed every item, it would take me all the way up to Secret Room Events’ next extravaganza to finish writing about them!!!
