LA WESTSIDE FOOD & WINE/SPIRITS FESTIVAL FALL 2019 PREVIEW

This will be my second year attending the Fall version of the Los Angeles Westside Food & Wine/Spirits Festival, and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m hoping that my local LA readers will join me there, so, as a now-veteran Festival-goer, let me entice you with all the deets.

It’s a three-to-four-hour indoor-outdoor event this coming Sunday afternoon, October 13th, at the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Westside in Culver City. It takes place in their Palisades Ballroom and the adjacent patio, and even in part of the back parking lot. (So we also get some exercise in, going from area to area!)

And for just one-all-inclusive price, you get to eat and drink to your heart’s content. (There’s also the option of an early-entry ticket, so you can get an extra hour in, before the masses arrive, which I highly recommend.) At the two LA Westside Food & Wine/Spirits Festivals that I’ve attended in the past year, there were all kinds of food and beverage purveyors, offering something for everyone. I’m sure you’ll recognize many of the eateries on tap.

I’m happy that two of my favorite places will be there. Mr. X and I eat Panini Kabob Grill’s delicious dishes several times a year—their fare is always so fresh and healthful. At the summer Festival, this place served the most generous plates of chicken and rice, along with a little bag of hummus and pita. That one was a full meal unto itself! I also can’t wait for another slice of Fresh Brothers Pizza. A friend and I just had the yummiest full pizza at one of their outposts, and I’ve been craving it ever since.

And, of course, there will be all kinds of desserts and chocolates; you’ll most likely find me at one of those tables!  In the summer Festival, there was a little truck serving banana bites that they dipped into chocolate and fun toppings of your choice, and another table making colorful and creative pancakes. I hope to see those two again, or at least some similar fun snacks.

In the beverage category, quite the variety is expected.  There will be lots of unlimited alcohol, (so please do not drive there yourself if you’re planning on drinking,) along with plenty of nonalcoholic beverages (like tea, water, and kombucha) to keep you hydrated all day.

There are always some fun give-aways, which have included health bars, tote bags, and plastic drinkwear in the past. And there will also be live music and a DJ to keep it all moving.

And you get all that fabulousness while helping humanity. That’s because a portion of the proceeds from the Los Angeles Westside Food & Wine/Spirits Festival will go to the Westside Food Bank. Their mission is “to end hunger in our communities by providing access to free nutritious food through food acquisition and distribution, and by engaging the community and advocating for a strong food assistance network.”
