I’M OFF TO NY FOR NOVEMBER

But don’t get excited for me yet: my main purpose is to continue cleaning-out my house in Brooklyn, which is a heart-breaking task. (And who knows what I’m going to find there after the recent hurricane! I’m knocking on wood for the best. And I’ll be able to make good use of my possessions there by giving them to people who dearly need them; my blankets, clothing, new toiletries, etc. couldn’t serve a higher purpose!) Even though I moved to Los Angeles when I was a mere teen, I never took anything with me from my childhood home. I was simply going cross-country for the summer, and planned to return home to college and my family and friends by that September. But the second I entered LA, through Malibu, I knew this is where I was meant to be. (It didn’t hurt that I saw Mr. X on-stage a few nights later, and fell madly in love with him because of his talent! The play was a serious drama, so I didn’t even know he was funny yet! Or that every other girl was after him! I just knew I had to stay here and stake my claim.)

So, returning back to the main topic, I never brought any of my New York possessions with me. Unlike just about every other child I know, who rarely goes back to visit their parents, I went back all the time. I repeat, all the time! Including now!

So, I still have a lot of my childhood stuff there. (Well, only what I could save through the years because my mother was a constant thrower-outer. Hmm…perhaps that’s why I tend to hold on to a lot of my most-likely-unnecessary items.) On top of that, when my father died almost fourteen years ago, I went there to entertain my little mo every six weeks for several years! Then, in the past seven or eight years, I spent three separate months in our Brooklyn stead annually. So, I acquired more things there. After all, what glamour girl could live for a month without a make-up mirror, full wardrobe, make-up, hair products, and jewelry for all occasions? Not to mention gifts for anybody who happened upon our abode, and books about everything in New York? Let’s just say that I’m prepared there for any eventuality.

Except the one of having to figure out what to do with all of it now!!! (Any suggestions, anyone? All ideas you can give me in the Comments section below will be appreciated.)

But don’t tune-out of INAM for November! Loyal readers know that I believe in making everything fun, (well, as much as it can be, which in some sad cases is minimal,) so I know I’ll have some wonderful New York adventures to tell you about.

I’m planning some restaurant and theatre reviews, a party here and there, and even a physic visit!!! Plus, there are still other events to write about, (like the 100th anniversary of my elementary school that’s exactly one block away from me!!!,) so there won’t be a dull moment in this e-zine. So, please still check on it daily. I just wanted you to know the travel sitch in case I wind-up missing a day or two. Or you have an idea for something you’d like me to check-out/write-up in New York. If it’s Nathan’s or Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, please suggest away!!!
