I’M BACK, JUST IN TIME FOR WIMBLEDON

I’m back from my June trip to New York, just in time for this summer’s Wimbledon tennis tournament to begin today. I’d like to be less exhausted for it, but a jet-setting chick like me has to do what a gal’s gotta do.

As my phone machine states during this tourney, you can leave a message, but try to not to bother me during the fortnight. That policy still stands, but as life gets increasingly busy for me, I’ll still be publishing daily columns. Well, perhaps I’ll skip a day here and there, like when Roger Federer’s playing and I’ll be holding my breath for four or so hours, but I’ll do my best.

It’s weird with tennis and me; I always watch every second of Wimbledon and the US Open, (and I do mean every second; just ask a perturbed Mr. X,) but miss almost the entire coverage of the Australian and French Opens! Maybe that’s because the last two are broadcast either delayed or at strange times. I really can’t figure it out myself; I just don’t have a passion for those two.

But I’m a lunatic for Wimbledon. I even eat strawberries and cream for the finals! I do everything short of speaking with the fake English accent that Madonna and Oprah do! (Actually, I was saving that one in case I ever married Paul McCartney. But I guess I can let it go now.)

Okay, I’m seventeen minutes behind in the Wimbledon coverage. So, you’re on your own now…until tomorrow.
