HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY 2018

Well, let’s call a spade a spade–it sucks for July 4th to fall in the middle of the week!!! Duh. How are people supposed to have a four-day week-end???

I suppose one could take off Monday and Tuesday, as well, and have five full days of fun, but then who wants to go back to work for Thursday and Friday? To really have a special time, you’d have to take off the entire week, and then does the 4th of July count as a vacation day, which it would have been anyway? You see—a Wednesday Fourth of July is not much fun at all.

But I really do hope that all of you can make something good of it, even if it’s just to relax and break up your week. Hey—I just thought of something—you can work on Monday and Tuesday, have today as your paid vacation day, and then take off the next two days as regular vacation days; that way, you get five good days off in a row! (I really hope you thought of that before now! I actually work seven days a week, with never a vacation, so things like this don’t usually occur to me.)

Back to today. I wish all of you a very happy and above all, safe, Fourth of July. And please spare a thought for how lucky we are to live in this country. Let’s all hope it gets better soon, despite an evil madman running it for a bit longer.
