WOW! CREATIONS LIFESTYLE GIFTING SUITE IN CELEBRATION OF THE 65TH EMMY  AWARDS

[Note: As usual, each Emmys Suite gets its own write-up, in the order of my visits this year. So, please make sure to check each day’s column this week to learn about all the fabulous-ness. This is the third of five. (Because these were my first events out of the house since my hand surgery, I had to limit my suites visits to five, so I chose my perennial favorites.) I had an associate accompany me to each suite; Curtis is the contributing writer on this one. His included remarks are the ones in quotes, but don’t expect a lot because he’s a quiet one!]

The Harris Twins gave us yet another lovely event in the Penthouse Suite at Beverly Hills’ Luxe Hotel on Rodeo Drive. Every guest begins getting gifted right away, the second they get off the elevator and are greeted personally by either Mark or Matthew. (I think I finally know the difference between them! I’m so proud of myself for that.)

Curtis and I are big snack fans, (Mr. X, too,) so we were happy to see a lot of chips and candy and cookies at this suite. We haven’t gotten to try most of them yet, so reviews of those will have to wait for some other time, but the two we did try were delish! Mr. X and I were fighting over the Real McCoy’s rice chips, (that come in creative flavors,) and Curtis said that the Original Gourmet Lollipops are “kind-of like Willy Wonka’s fictional Everlasting Gobstoppers because you suck on them for a looooooong time, and they can’t be bitten into,” an assessment Mr. X wholeheartedly agrees with. I’ve never seen him take so long to eat one piece of candy, which is great because then he won’t eat too much sugar in one night.

Now let’s get to the highlights of the main gifts:

ECBC Luggage—This was the most popular sponsor there! You really had to wait your turn to get to talk to one of their lovely representatives because all the guests were clamoring around their table. As soon as I got up there, I understood why; this is a fabulous array of travel bags for all us hipster techies! Up until two years ago, I was a simple girl who traveled with just a little tiny flip phone. But now I’ve finally gotten up to speed with technology, and my mouth watered when I saw these carry-on suitcases and backpacks that have easy access compartments for my laptop, tablet, and de rigueur smart phone. Of course, me being me, I was glad to see they also feature compartments where I can store my make up, jewelry, and sundries. Oh yeah, they can carry clothing, as well! I think there’s also a portable re-charging unit, but I was drooling too loudly to pay attention to everything they told us. www.ec-bc.com

Sure Thik—This is a fabulous new product that half of Hollywood needs; it’s organic hair thickening fibers that you just shake on your head. And then there’s a spray that sets them, if you need to. I wish they’d send a bottle to Ceelo Green, so we viewers of The Voice don’t have to see that hideous henna design he recently had tattooed on his bald pate! www.surethik.com

Real Chemistry–I was glad to see these convenient tubes of three minute facial peel again. I’ve used it to great success in the past, and as soon as I can use my hands again, I know what I’ll be doing with them for those first three minutes. Sorry Mr. X, but it’s applying this product to my desperately-in-need-of-polishing visage. www.myrealchemistry.com

Life Extension—I was happy to see this health-minded company at this suite once again. It’s always educational to chat with the doctor in-charge, and find out what’s new in the vitamin field. In addition to gifting one of their top vitamin products, everyone also received their night cream. I’m hoping that combo will rejuvenate me, post my second hand surgery next week. After the torturous summer I’ve had, I need as much health help as I can get! www.lef.org

Lovesque Fashions–As a fan of this company’s tunic tops, I’m always curious to see what new items they have. The kind girl at the table took one look at my poor bandaged hands, and said, “I have just the thing for you!” She gave me one of their new Leather Love Knot Bracelets because it’s super-easy to close, which won’t tax my hands, and she chose a Powder Blue one, to go with my eyes. With how little sleep I’m getting these days because of my injured hands, I think a red one would’ve matched my eyes a little better right now! www.lovesquefashion.com

Ranch Organics–This natural skincare line was gifting their organic body washes. We were impressed with the not-the-usual fragrances, like Sweet Grass and Rose Geranium. Not ones you see every day. www.ranch-organics.com

Niagara’s Honeymoon Sweets–This is the one sweet treat at this suite (see what I did there?,) that we absolutely didn’t want to eat, not because we haven’t been craving it, but rather because each one is a work of art! Curtis’s favorite was a beautiful painting of the Falls inside a picture frame, and all of it was made from chocolate. Pretty impressive. And of course, they make little chocolate barrels, as well. Now that I’d like to have a full-size rendition of! www.niagarashoneymoonsweets.com
