SUITES FOLLOW-UP 2012

Since I’m in New York for the next month, I’ll be missing this week’s American Music Awards Suites, because they’re taking place in L.A. (Duh.) So, I figured this is the perfect time to share some of the worthy products I found at earlier suites this year, that didn’t make it into the original columns for one reason or another.

Another perk of this timing is that they can also be useful as gifts for the upcoming holidays! So, let’s get to them:

FROM SECRET ROOM

Minnetonka Moccasins–I haven’t seen any like these since Mr. X bought me my beloved Indian ones from Santa Fe, when we were first together. Back then, in my true glamour days, wearing flats was a tad of an odd-feeling to me. But now, they’re a life saver. Or at least a back one!

But, unfortunately, even in the boot category, there aren’t tons of low-heeled ones I find attractive enough. Enter these classics from Minnetonka, and I’m comfortable and styling! And the red wine-toned ones are the color of the season, which I love because, let’s face it, even in flats, I’m still a glamour girl!

Pantofola d’Oro Sneakers–I’ve always been known for my crazy sneakers collection, so when I discovered these Italian beauties, I was thrilled! This company has so many styles, but the shiny turquoise ones caught my eye from across the suite! When I dug deeper, I realized that they make some of the most well-respected real sports shoes in the world! Not just ones to look good in, but shoes for soccer, football, etc. So, maybe, when you put them on, they give you some sort of super-power. At least that’s what I’m hoping!

Bella and Roo Endless Dog Collar—this is a dog collar with interchangeable attachments. There’s even a reflective one for night walking! I understand they’re easy to change, but since, sadly, (as most of you know,) I don’t have a dog anymore, I didn’t try it out myself. I think it’s a really cool idea, especially for pets of fashionistas like myself!

FROM DEBBIE DURKIN’S

Odina Bathing Suit—I found these bikinis at the most eco-friendly suite there is, so you know they’re worthwhile, in addition to being uber-attractive. They’re made from recycled plastic/reclaimed fabrics. And the colors make my mouth water, although there’s also basic black. I don’t know how they manage to create so many great-looking styles with just a couple of little pieces of fabric! There’s even one with a skirt-type bottom, which is good for the less brave, (or thin,) among us.

FROM OTHER ONES

Cover My Heart Breastfeeding Cover—even though I still haven’t gotten that desire to have children, I recognize a good “mommy” product when I see one. This nursing blanket is great because it includes a pillow that goes over your shoulder to make your back more comfortable when you lean back! I’m sure my pals with older-than-babies kids wish that someone had thought of this before. And the blanket part covers a wide area so you get to be polite and discreet and comfortable all at the same time!

Hodges Collection Dresses–these casual dresses, (made from partially re-cycled materials, something I’ve never noticed before,) are not only made in America, but right here in Los Angeles! How rare is that? They’re soft, lightweight, and easy to just throw on to look good anywhere.
