RED CARPET EVENTS LA GRAMMYS STYLE LOUNGE

I hadn’t been to a Red Carpet Events suite in awhile and I was happy to see it was as excellent as ever. Held in the Beverly Hills’ SLS Hotel, and featuring lots of great gifts I hadn’t seen before, there’s a lot to tell you about. So let’s get right to the highlights:

Dr. Kelly Hong—this Los Angeles cosmetic dentist manned the booth herself, bestowing perhaps the most important gift of all—that of a healthy smile. The guests are invited to her Century City office for a cleaning and whitening. Now, that’s a gift!!! www.kellyhongdds.com

Ear Charms—these “cuffs” that wrap around the ear and have stones that, in my case at least, emulate the several-earrings-coming-down-the-side look, are fabulous! I can’t live without mine now that I’ve discovered them. Besides being my new favorite product at the suite, the personnel, George and Sandra, were my favorite people there, too! www.earcharms.com

Chemistrie Sunlenses—these fashion glasses with many different choices of colored snap-on magnetic lenses are wonderful. They’re so easy to use and are very hip-looking. You can choose the color to match your outfit or just what’s best to block the sun. Or, best of all, how about the 3-D ones??? Now you’re talking! www.eyenavision.com

Belliskincare and Kelo-Cote Scar Treatment—these products may just be a godsend to me; I have that scar on my nose from cancer surgery a few years ago, and it’s beginning to really bother me. (My friends always tell me that they don’t notice it anymore—but they say that only when they see me!) Sooo….) I can’t wait to try the Kelo-Cote; I just can’t decide whether to start with the gel or the spray. The other skin care products are formulated for young moms, but will work on everyone, even people who aren’t really pregnant, and just have less than six-pack abs. Me, perhaps? www.belliskincare.com

Alfaparaf Milano—the people who know me well know how into my hair I am. One guy even went so far as to ask if the reason he had a crush on me was because of my tresses! Oysh. So, making it look its best is always important to me. Most new haircare systems don’t appeal to me, but I really can’t wait to try their Semi di Lino Diamante line because it’s touted to make you hair shine like diamonds. I’ll let you know if it does. www.alfaparf.com

Dolphin Organics—this company wrote me one of the few thank you notes I received on a recent suites write-up I did of them, so I’m happy to report that not only are these children’s hair products natural, organic, and beautifully-packaged, but the personnel who make them are lovely. What more can you ask for for your children??? www.dolphinorganics.com

Nuwati Herbals—this display from a part-Cherokee man who looked like he was straight out of a Sean Connery film was very interesting. They were featuring their top-seller product, The Healer Tea, that makes you better just smelling it! I’m not kidding. You can drink it, too, and I have such faith that it will work that I’m bringing it to New York next month, just to be on the safe side. Check it out. www.nuwatiherbals.com

Song of India—the room where the event was held smelled great, and it turned-out that the aromas were emanating from this sponsor! They were gifting incenses, oils, and soaps, all from India, the experts in this category. It reminded me of my dorm rooms, where the fun of college life was happening. www.songofindia.com

Eye Slices—I’ve had little sleep in the past three months, so I can’t tell you how happy I was to discover this South African product, courtesy of a company called What’s Hot. They’re re-usable eye pads, that need no refrigeration(!,) with different formulas for different problems. (I.e. puffiness, circles, allergies, wandering, etc.) (Okay, just kidding about that last one—as if there could ever be a product to counteract that!) I’ll let you know if they work. www.eyeslices.com

Bite-Lite Candles—where I live, it’s very urban in the front of my house, and totally country, complete with critters, in the back. I love it, but, unfortunately, so do the insects. (You don’t even want to know who showed-up in my house the other day! Suffice it to say I named him Eddie Lizard.) So, I can’t wait to try this mosquito-repelling candle, that’s said to smell good, too. www.bite-lite.com

Geek Eyewear—Mr. X and I have been wearing geek-y-looking eyeglasses for our whole lives! We’re so glad the fashion world has finally caught-up with us, and we can never have enough stylish frames. The eyewear from this company is the geekiest, which really means the hippest. See how that works in the cool kids’ world? www.geekeyewear.com

I have one more Grammy suite to tell you about tomorrow, and then we turn our attention to all things Oscar for the next two weeks! And then I rest. And watch college basketball.
