WOW CREATIONS PRE-EMMYS 2022 GIFTING SUITE

This was another fun event from the Harris twins. I so appreciate that they change locations of their gifting events from time-to-time, which makes it extra-interesting for their guests, and I was really happy that they were back in my neck of the woods for this one. It was held in the Penthouse of the Mr. C Hotel in Beverly Hills.

My co-write, Laura, said she was “excited” to finally see that venue which she had never been to despite being a native Angeleno! She loved the “ fabulous views of the city,” from the penthouse and said the “entire event was lovely,” adding, “Wow Creations had a really diverse group of sponsors, which was nice to see.”

And we both enjoyed that they had several culinary treats for us along the way, such as pizza, cupcakes, and various beverages; Laura deemed it to all be “delicious.”

Before I laud all of our favorite gifts we discovered there, I must first thank a few people who really helped me that day. Because no one ever wants to miss a popular Wow Creations event, the place was packed all day. And it was held on that hottest day of the heatwave, when it was actually 100 degrees out!  So the room just could not get cool enough for my heatstroke-prone self. Laura most likely literally saved my life; she figured-out what the least hot part of the hotel was, got me to it, and enlisted a few staff members to help. First was Assistant Controller Suzy who got the assistant General Manager, Stephanie, for us, who in turn brought in Victor, who got a giant fan to blow on me while Stephanie got every piece of ice she could find to bring me around. She and Laura stayed with me for the entire hour it took me to fully come around.  I thank all of them from the bottom of my heart.

And because I’m such a fan of the Harris bros and their events, I made it back up there, and was rewarded for doing so by finding many worthwhile items to tell you about.

Here are those highlights:

Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay—Laura was actually introduced to this company’s healing clay a little while ago, so now she says, “I’ve gone from a curious consumer to a fan!” So besides that we were both happy to see the clay at this event, they were also introducing something that Laura found “exciting”–two new oils. She has so much to say about it that I’m letting her take it from here. She tells us, “Their tea tree oil and jojoba oil can be mixed with their clay for various healing purposes. I struggle with terrible dry and cracked feet and I can’t wait to try their recipe for a ‘foot facial,’ where I will blend tea and tea tree oil with the clay and then apply. I love baking because of the process of mixing ingredients to create something delicious that makes people happy, and this will be like that for me.  But it will be even better because this time, I’ll be mixing ingredients to help me with my wellbeing! And that makes me happy because it will be like baking, but without the calories!”  www.aztec-secret.com

Amour Cache–This lingerie company gifted bras, in a variety of sizes, (which I’m sure all the female guests appreciated,) that Laura and I both deemed to be stunning and feminine. We perused them all, and Laura said, “I don’t normally like the feeling of a lace bra because the material can be stiff and itchy, but Amour Cache’s lace is surprisingly soft.” And it’s all pretty sexy, as well, which is where my area of expertise comes in! www.amour-cache.com

Sabre Pepper Spray—I’ve actually owned this company’s products for awhile, and I can’t tell you how much better I feel when I’m even just holding their mini-pepper spray in my pocket! I recently showed it to a female Gas Company worker who came to my house; I felt she should have one when she has to go into strangers’ homes. They were gifting it at this event, but this time it was a jeweled one! You know I’ll be rocking that one all the time. I may not even need to spray—I may just dazzle potential evil-doers with the exterior! And just for good measure, there was a little personal alarm in each gift bag. www.sabrered.com

Dr. Tyler Hales DDS—The Ladera Ranch dentist himself was on-site to chat with the guests. Being teeth-obsessed, I was happy to see those interactions because I can never understand why so many Hollywood types don’t take care of their teeth—we’re not in Britain, people!!! Laura agrees, being from a dental family. (Her dad is a retired dentist and her aunt and cousin are hygienists.) So I was surprised when she told me that she had never tried teeth whitening.  The dentist was giving guests certificates for exactly that service, so she just may get to finally get familiar with it. www.halesparker.com

Victor Wear—We loved meeting the family behind this line of “active wear with a purpose,” as it’s billed on their site. It was created by the mom of a son with autism with the goal “of providing employment and empowerment opportunities to the autism community.” We chatted with them for a long time, and Laura says, “It was such an honor to meet teen-age Isaiah and his beautiful mom, (who really looks like she could be his sister.)  She is the definition of a she-ro! They were gifting tee-shirts with inspiring sayings, and Isaiah is the perfect spokesman for their company. He’s very involved with their mission, and even told me that he designed the company logo! He’s so charming and engaging.” On top of that I agree with all that, I loved the very varied colors of the tees, too! www.victorwear.com

BÜ Sunscreen—I’ve been familiar with this sunscreen company for about six months now, and I just finally realized that their title translates to their motto: Be You!!! I love that. As a mom of youngsters, Laura says, “I’m passionate about sunscreen, especially brands that have clean ingredients, with no oil or alcohol.  I also look for them to be unscented. The BÜ brand sunscreen ticks every box for me.” www.busunscreen.com

Lysulin—Laura was happy to see this company there because she was already familiar with them, and is a fan of the two products they were gifting that day, telling me she “loves them equally.” Their main offering is a nutritional supplement powder, which helps with diabetes and pre-diabetes. Laura says, “As someone who struggles with pre-diabetes, Lysulin Powder has been very helpful.” The other item is Dr. Burd’s Wonder Spray. Laura says it’s her “go-to spray when the kids have a cut,” and even uses it herself. She adds, “I don’t know what’s in it, but it works!” Good for the rest of us to know. www.lysulin.com

Bluelene—This skincare line was gifting a choice of a face serum or sunscreen. Laura loves discovering new brands of the latter, so she sampled it on-site, and said, “It wasn’t greasy or sticky, and didn’t make the skin shine (which is a good thing.) I found it to be a very light sunscreen, one that I will actually want to put on.” I checked-out the face serum which is an interesting one because its combination of ingredients eliminates the need for multiple other products. www.bluelene.com

Celebrity Hair for Less—This company is known for their beautiful hair extensions and wigs. But at this event, they were gifting what Laura describes as “beautiful jeweled and rhinestone-studded headbands, the level of detail on which is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.” She ultimately referred to it as a “black tie headband!” www.celebrityhairforless.com

Beauty Kitchen—Laura just became aware of this brand recently, and said, “This popular skincare company has so many goodies, including lotions, body washes, bath soaks, and shampoos. But their stand-out product is their scrub which is made with simple clean ingredients, with nothing weird added. I read the ingredient list and understood every one on it!” www.beautykitchen.net

We finished-up our visit with the perfect treat—Gelato Angels ice cream! They had a whole on-site display with the perfect choice of four flavors—chocolate almond and cheesecake for me, limoncello for Laura, and tiramisu for everyone else. It was already delicious, but even more appreciated on that hot, hot day.
