I was so glad that Wow Creations’ Pre-Oscars Gifting Suite was held at the same place as their previous Emmys event because I wanted my co-writer, Laura, to see what it was like in the Penthouse of the Mr. C Hotel in Beverly Hills when it wasn’t over 100° out, as it was on that September day!

But it was still a bit warm in there this time because the event was sooo popular that it was crowded at all times! It was definitely a happening; the frenetic mingling made for a lot of happy faces all day.

A fun thing that happened for us is that right at the end of our time there, we got to meet former NBA player John Salley. He took my phone right out of my hand and snapped a couple of pix of the three of us. It was so different to have someone with that humongous wingspan take a selfie for once!

Here are the highlights of what we found there:

Wrapped Clothing—This was our favorite sponsor of the day! We had met this creative scarf and wrap company at a different recent event, and their made-in-LA designs are so fabulous that we were happy to tell the world about them. So we enjoyed coming upon them again. And this time, we discovered that they have interesting scarves and neck-wraps for the guys, as well! And even bracelets for them! Laura checked-out the latter, and says, “They’re made from guitar strings! I’ve never seen anything like it! I wish they also made these for women’s smaller wrists.” www.wrappedclothing.com

Potency No. 710—People were clamoring for this skincare company’s Gold Serum, which is formulated with a special ingredient. Laura explains, “This is the first time I’ve seen a face serum that contains CBD!” That inclusion, along with the rest of its twenty ingredients, is said to be what gives the skin a special glow. Now the next time we go to a Wow event, all the guests should be looking their best!  www.potency710.com

Absinthia—We’re always happy to see this special spirits company’s founder. Laura said of her, “She’s so adorable–she was all dressed in green, and had beautiful green highlights in her hair, to stay on theme with her product.” This time, she was offering each guest a gift box featuring a trio of different absinthe flavors. Laura added, “Judging by the medals that were displayed on her table, I am sure they’re all really good!” www.absinthia.com

Bluelene—This skincare company was gifting a choice of two of their most popular products.  Their Serum Plus is packed with ingredients, such as their patented Methylene Blue, Hyaluronic Acid, NextGen Vitamin C, Aloe Vera, and Blue-Green Algae. The other is their BodyFix, which Laura checked-out and tells us is “a body cream that firms and corrects. For people such as myself who are getting older, this body cream is speaking our language!” www.bluelene.com

Central Cali Caregivers—I have been using this wellness company’s pain salve for years now, and it’s absolutely Mr. X and my favorite product to help with our back and knee pain! We love it! So I’m always happy to see them again. Laura just discovered their new eye drops, and was amazed that they contain CBD. She told me, “I have seen CBD in just about everything, but never in eye drops before! As a fan of that substance, I imagine that this product will be very helpful for people with dry and irritated eyes.” www.centralcaregivers.net

Skimmet—Laura, a techie girl, took this one. She tells us, “For me, this company was the most interesting one at the suite.  The rep explained that they’re a social media technology company that scans Facebook groups for keywords that are related to your business so that in practically real time, you can see the posts, and then comment on them, and that could potentially generate business leads. Why didn’t I come up with this idea? It’s genius!” And to make sure that we remembered them, they gifted little old school timers complete with pretty colored sand. www.skimmet.com

Along the way, there were all kinds of samples, including chocolates, caramels, a pretty pastel nail polish, kids’ pancake mix, and my favorite of the whole day–a little bag with a trio of lipsticks and sparkly stick-on nails! That one absolutely screamed out, “For the girly-girls!”

And the attractive bar was serving drinks all day. Laura had a very pretty virgin margarita. She told me, “I asked for something refreshing, and that drink really delivered. Also, I love a drink where they don’t skimp on the garnish, and the bartender was definitely generous in that department.”

If that wasn’t enough alcohol for the guests, different booze companies gave-out plenty of tastes and samples of their alcoholic beverages, including wine and vodka.

But the best part of the entire event for us was a unique one—Ben Hoyt played lovely and vibrant violin music all day! His music was fabulous and he’s adorbs, so it was all a win! For everyone!
