SECRET ROOM MTV MOVIE AWARDS GIFT SUITE

[Note: each MTV Movie Awards gifting suite is getting its own column because I don’t want any of you to miss even one fun gift I’m telling you about. So, please make sure to read all three or you’ll miss out on some of the fabulous-ness. This is the first, so there will be two more in the next couple of days.]

After two weeks of sitting in the house being sick, I was ready to emerge back into the world, just in time for the suites that were celebrating the MTV Movie Awards. And I decided to begin with Secret Room because I always feel so comfortable there, especially when it’s held at Beverly Hills’ beautiful SLS Hotel, which is an easier location than one might think.

As usual, they featured many new products that I had never seen anywhere before. So, let’s get started on the highlights.

HOMANZ PURSES—these colorful summer leather purses were the first gifts I saw upon entering the actual suite, and the designer was an adorable young girl! I chose the medium size bag, which will be perfect for the Hamptons next month. I know that my friend who hosts me there will be pleased to see me show up with such a classy handbag this year. RAQUELLE BIANCO JEWELRY—all of this jewelry was gorgeous! So gorgeous that some less-than-gracious guests were trying to grab several pieces! I’m more than happy with my honey top topaz ring from her instinct collection, which her lovely PR rep helped me pick-out. BOOGIE WIPES/SALINE SOOTHERS—two moms came up with this idea for wipes that work better than plain tissues for colds. Where were they the week before, when I was home schnurgling up a storm??? As much as I hope that Mr. X and I never need them, it’s seriously comforting to know that we’ll have these cold helpers if ever we get sick again. (Bite my tongue.) UNIVERSAL CONTOUR WRAP—cute, skinny girls from Canada were offering us certificates to receive body contour wraps at the spa of our choice. They’re designed to take-off about six inches from our bodies, and I can’t wait! HOLLYWOOD BASKETS—this whole display made my mouth water! It’s from a company that puts together gift bags, which you know I whole-heartedly love. Ever since I was a little girl, helping my mother gather gifts and place just the right ones in bags for us to distribute at children’s’ hospitals, I’ve always enjoyed seeing what other people come up with in that category. So, when I got home and went though my Hollywood Basket, and discovered medical-grade nail polish and even little skateboard-skates in it, I was impressed.  www.hollywoodbaskets.com

EZ CURLER—I think that everyone knows that I like to wear my hair straight, but recently I’ve been exploring how to give it waves at the bottom, or even starting in the middle. This easy-to-use, spinning curling iron should do the trick. Fingers crossed.   www.ezcurler.com

MILLION DOLLAR TAN–judging by the fact that I wasn’t sure just what ethnicity the girls demo-ing this tan product were, (on closer inspection, I ascertained that they were indeed Caucasian,) it would seem this stuff works! FLORAGLO LUTEIN–this appears to be the new “it” ingredient in vitamins. I’ve always known of lutein to help eyesight because of my poor little mother’s vision problems, but the girls at this suite told me that now it’s found to also “support skin from within.” So, it’s definitely worth taking, on both levels, as far as I’m concerned.   www.floraglolutein.com
