On the second day of events leading up to the MTV Movie Awards, I visited Secret Room, which was held once again in the ballroom of the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, and was jam-packed with guest and gifts.

Their charity of choice this year is the American Humane Association, which is the only organization dedicated to protecting both children and animals.

As always, Secret Room had probably the most sponsors of all the suites all year, so let’s get right to the highlights:

Flips Headphones—Krump dancing Mr. X loved that these new headphones that become super-powerful speakers just by turning the ear pieces outward. (Hence the moniker “Flip.” Get it?) I always want him to keep his music to himself, but sometimes, a guy’s gotta share with his chick, and these make it easy to do both.

Espíritu Folk Purse—This table was full of purses I loved, especially the black fringed ones. They’re all so boho and now! And their rep could not have been kinder to everyone. This sponsor was one of the true win-wins.

Candy Lipz—I almost don’t want to tell you about this lip-enhancing product because I want to be the only one to benefit from it! I’ve never seen anything like it! You just have to see it for yourself. It’s a cute device, as opposed to lip balm, to pump up your lips. And you get a choice of having your lips look like Angelina Jolie’s, with the line through the bottom, or just full. I can’t wait to get started on it.

Hair Doozy—The inventor of this hair tool caddy must have seen my bathroom! It holds up to three hair appliances, to get rid of the mess on the counter, and comes in every color I wanted. And the best part is that if you forget to shut your flat-iron, it’s okay in this invention! Loving it.

Big Teaze Toys—This one really faked me out. I couldn’t wait to get over to the booth to fawn over all the adorable rubber ducks. But I laughed so hard when I realized that they were, how shall I say, adult toys!!! They double as massagers. Just keep them away from those pesky young ‘uns!

Poetik Designs and Twisted Liar Clothing—These two clothing lines are by the same person! How much do I love the styles when I chose something for me rather than for Mr. X?! My krump dancer would have loved the urban tees in designs I’ve never seen before, but I had to go with a sheer and sparkly black tunic for me to wear to some of my events in New York in the next few weeks. I’ll pair it with different bottoms and jewels, dah-ling, so I can wear it several times. So, get used to it, NYC!

Kix’ies—These creatively-designed thigh highs are perfect for my upcoming trip to NY, where the Spring weather is crazy, but you must still be fashionable at all times. I just added the “Annabelle” to my collection because there’s still no “Karen.” But I’m working on it!

Words To Live By Apparel—These soft tees, tanks, and sweatshirts have uplifting messages on them, all in different fonts. I chose a “Just Breathe” which I’ll desperately need to be reminded of during the time I’ll be spending in NY for the next month. I’ll just have to constantly look in the mirror to be reminded of it! Actually, I don’t think that will be a problem for me, if you get my drift.

GoodGirl Tanks & Tees—They were gifting tanks tops that featured sentences which aren’t the norm, like: “my daddy thinks I’m pretty,” “I don’t camp,” and “running is stupid.”

None The Richer—This talented red-headed Aussie designs jewelry and clothing! She’s one of the few sponsors I’ve ever met who had absolutely everything that I loved, including the pirate-treasure-style jewelry boxes. I couldn’t believe that all these diverse creations came from just one person’s mind. And they all blew mine!

Swell Caroline Costume Jewelry—OMG! I could not leave without seeing this jewelry up-close. It’s all so perfect, especially for Spring. My favorite pieces there reminded me of my beloved childhood Pop-It Beads, only a thousand times better!

Sue Sensi Jewelry—I loved every single piece of jewelry this woman designed! If I had had to choose a piece myself, I would still be standing there! Luckily, Sue chose for everyone, and her delicate feminine bracelets that feature the evil eye are just what I need for the next five weeks in the Big Apple! No joke. Sue’s site states that “it is believed that if the eye charm falls off, it has protected the wearer from negative energy.” With all that goes on in that city, I may just lose that charm as soon as I land!

Braced-Lets—This company must have been reading my mind, sort-of; since an endodontist messed-up my side teeth really badly last year, I keep thinking I should get braces. And, we all know I love wrist jewels. Well, these cleverly-named creations are stretchy bracelets that are made out of the material used for braces! And they’re cute and colorful. If I get desperate, I may just wrap them around my teeth! (Just kidding, girls. Definitely don’t try doing that at home.)

Pearly White—This new teeth-whitening line is really refreshing-looking. And the products are designed so that they don’t hurt sensitive teeth. I can’t wait to try the whole set. I wish everyone would, if you get my drift. I just hope they hand these out at the BAFTAs next year!

Adore Cosmetics–The products in this luxury skin care line contain Plant Stem Cell formula, vitamins, essential oils, and organic plant extracts. Now that I’ve had some time to research the line, I’m lusting after their neck serum! I knew this line was classy just by looking at the no-fuss packaging; they let the products’ results do the talking.

Agadir Argan Oil—I was happy to see that this new-to-me entry into the Argan Oil craze is made in America. Each guest was allowed to choose the one product they liked most from among the several they were featuring. Who knew there were so many ways to use this miracle oil?!

Offenbacher Fudge—I loved that the founder of this confectionery is using her mother’s time-honored recipe. If I used any ones from my mother, we’d all go hungry! (But she taught me how not to cook, which, trust me, is a very valuable lesson.) And for each box bought, another is donated to an under-privileged family. So, here’s a girl who can bake and is kind! Her role model mom must be so proud, no matter where she is.

MommyJuice Wines—This name made me laugh. As neither a mother nor drinker, I never need wine, but living with me has made Mr. X imbibe recently! So I guess these attractive wines, founded by a Napa mom, (so she must know what she’s doing,) are for everybody. And it was so cute that a wine glass was in every gift bag, too. A big glass at that!

Cultures For Health—As I’m sure we all know, I don’t make anything in the kitchen, except jokes. So, I was shocked to discover these starter kits for making everything from yogurt to bread to mozzarella cheese! At first, I was scared of them, but now that it dawned on me that it’s like being a chef and a scientist in one fell swoop, I’m really into it. Heck, you may never see me in a restaurant again! (Unless I explode the kitchen while working on the cheese, thus reminding Mr. X why he asked me to “never cook again” to begin with! Hmm.)

Megaload Chocolate—What an aptly named product! Each group of candy “cups” have multiple flavors, like a peanut butter cup and sandwich cookie in one! True overload.

Magic Milk Straws—I’m a major fan of milk, something most of you don’t know. But it can be plain milk only if I’m drinking it with something chocolate. These straws will help with that because they contain flavor dots. You just put them in the glass of milk, stir, and drink through the straws! I haven’t seen these since I was a little kid! So glad they’re back, and with more flavors than we even knew we wanted!
