RED CARPET EVENTS LA’S STYLE LOUNGE GIFTING SUITE IN HONOR OF THE TEEN CHOICE AWARDS 2015

My contributing writer, Alice, and I were happy to attend last week’s Red Carpet Events LA’s Style Lounge Gifting Suite, which was in honor of Sunday’s Teen Choice Awards.  This time it was held at the always-fun W Hollywood.

The place was fully abuzz with the many teen-agers in attendance.  I just tried to blend in with them, especially since most of the girls were rocking fashions I loved!  They, (and their grown-ups,) all appeared to be having a great time getting “gifted.”

So, let’s get right to the highlights of those gifts, which any teen would love, (including ageless moi!):

Karen’s Products–We were happy to see these uber-pleasant sponsors back again, with a display so big, they needed their own room to hold their multitude of useful products!  We loved looking through them all, but we were especially glad to discover the Pure Antioxidant Serum, which is for aging/tired skin.  And that’s exactly what we always have after a day at a happening gifting suite!  Alice said she appreciated it the most, “Especially for the ‘no more tired’ part!”  I always admire Karen’s gorgeous displays.  (And her first name!  Duh.)  If you’re in Los Angeles, you can also find them at the related Tikkun Spa.  www.karensproduct.com

Love + Leather—Alice went nuts when she saw this “cool line” of robust, boho-chic necklaces, that look Indian-inspired. She was especially taken with a bronze metal collar choker with a quartz hanging from it, while I had eyes for only the many silver designs. Amid all the clamor at their table, we noticed that they looked great on everyone, from teens to adults. Alice added that “they’ll all go with everything you wear, from jeans to a dress!” And I love the very interesting monikers each one had, like Immortal Moonlight and Electric Ice. I hope they name one “The Supreme Goddess”–after me!  www.loveandleather.com

Cure Natural Aqua Gel –This exfoliator is touted to be the number one brand from Japan, where they’ve perfected the technology.  I was so happy to tell the big group of reps that their product is “ichiban,” the main word I know in Japanese!  (It means “#1″; don’t ask how I learned it!)  They gifted each guest a bag full of fun items! In it were not only the generous bottle of the Cure gel, but also tubes of Water Treatment skin cream, (to use after you’ve exfoliated the dead skin with Cure,) and Bathtime, which are bath salts that are made with Himalayan rock salt from Nepal. It’s perfect for a bath nut like me! I can’t wait to try it. Just blame Cure if the next time you see me, you can’t stop touching my arms! (But please stop there!) www.cureaquagel.com

The Boodle Box–This is a really fun monthly subscription box that contains beauty products for whom Alice calls “girly girls in training!”  The contents of the boxes change from month to month, but the one we took a peek in featured a lipstick, jewelry, headbands, and more. They come in two different age ranges because what five-year-olds like differs from what a fourteen-year-old is interested in, (even though immature I admire it all!) Alice said the box itself looks “so cute and fun!”   www.theboodlebox.com

Prep Cosmetics–We enjoyed meeting the founder of this cosmetics company which she started because she felt that teens are under-served in the skin care department.  (And I agree with her!)  But, as we checked-out the items in the newbie line, we realized that we grown-ups would be happy to use this assortment of fun products ourselves!  I wish I had had this skin care when I was a teen.  And I love what it says inside the flap of the box that the little tube of sunscreen lip gloss comes in!  The message gently reminds teens of the dangers of sun exposure, and how to protect themselves from it. As someone who learned that lesson the hard way, I’m here to tell young ‘uns that they can’t start too early on being aware of all that. Props to Prep for that!  www.prepyourskin.com

Nuwati Herbals–We were both happy to see this natural remedies company at the suite again, gifting their usual Healer Tea, which we’re already fans of.  Alice said, “I drink this all winter, either with milk or alone, and it’s not only delicious but medicinal, too.  I really believe this keeps me healthy.”  I just do it the other way they suggest–when I feel a cold coming on, I just sniff the contents of the bottle, and I can breath again.  Seriously.  www.nuwatiherbals.com

Rock Your Hair–We both loved the design of the cans and bottles (which is hot pink with a bedazzled heart in the center of the front,) that Alice deemed “so cool!”  We were both drawn to the travel-size of Spray It Clean, their dry shampoo.  Alice tried it and told me, “This stuff is wonderful! And I can carry this small can with me.”  Teens aren’t the only age group who will love these useful, (and pretty!,) products!   www.rockyourhair.com

On the way out, the VIPs received a separate big goodie bag containing even more gifts!  That’s always a big bonus that all the celebs love receiving.  Especially the teens!
