SECRET ROOM’S EMMYS LUXURY LOUNGE 2017
To continue the theme of last night’s Emmys glamour, I’m going a little out of order with this year’s entire Emmys coverage by beginning with the scoops on one of the attendant gifting suites before I weigh-in on the Emmys themselves. (I’ll be sharing all of those thoughts tomorrow.)
The reason I want to tell you about Secret Room’s Luxury Lounge right now is that they were so smart to stage it early in Emmys Week, so we VIPS could get a jump on the fun. That made it so much easier on us, and I really thank them for that!
I have a feeling that you all know by now how much I love Secret Room’s events, especially when they feature beauty services. And they always have the most incredible gift bags anywhere! They continued both of those traditions with this Emmys Lounge.
I also enjoyed that it was an indoor-outdoor event, in a beautiful breeze-filled garden setting and the adjacent glass room, at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, a venue I’ve been a fan of for years. They always have such lovely personnel.
So, at this visit, after I admired adorable new Secret Room baby, Hendrix, for awhile, I headed right for the beauty services, of course! Uber-pleasant Kacie O’Brien from the Toni & Guy Academy in Costa Mesa flat-ironed my hair, and then gave me a very sparkly mani, which, thankfully, lasted through all my Emmys activities. And then I was all set to meet the rest of the sponsors. www.toniguy.com
Here are the highlights of my discoveries there:
Freeze Frame Skin Care—This Aussie skin care line was gifting injection-free products such as fat burning body oil and skin brightening serum. As I perused the line, I realized that I need almost every single item they make!!! So now I may have to move Down Under! Oh wait—we can get them in America now—what a luxury! www.freeze-frame.com.au
Lime Crime Cosmetics—I think you all know how much I love make-up and colors, but did you know that I’m also a fan of unicorns? (Maybe it’s because the word sounds like “Capricorn,” which is what I am.) This cosmetics company encompasses all those areas, so I was fascinated with their pretty tins of mini lipsticks, and, of course, with their fun crazy hair colors that come in a jar! I could have spent the whole day at just their table, and been very happy. www.limecrime.com
Old Soles Children’s Shoes—These kids’ shoes from Australia are so fashionable that I wish they made them for grown-ups! (I have small feet, so I was actually thinking of Cinderella’s step-sistering my feet into a pair!) I spent a long time at their display, just admiring the craftsmanship that went into the darling footwear. www.oldsoles.com.au
OI Feminine Care Products—I have to admit—I didn’t even know what one of these products was! That’s how far feminine care products have come in recent years. The absolutely lovely Kiwi reps explained it all, and I could tell that they genuinely want to make this troublesome area of the lives of us femmes so much easier for us. Much appreciated. www.oi4me.com
Whoosh—This company’s rep took one look at my cell phone’s peeling plastic overlay, and immediately let me know that I need their products! In addition to screen-cleaning items, they also make the Diamond Defense, which creates an invisible layer on your screen to make it a zillion times stronger! I only wish I had it on there a minute or two before, when I dropped it hard while trying to take a picture and snack at the same time! www.whoosh.com
Kelly Smile—This high-tech Century City dentist, (whose patient I’ve been a time or two, so it was fun to see her again,) was on-site giving the guests gift cards for a free teeth whitening! I only hope that some of them use those certs pronto, if you get my drift! www.kellyhongdds.com
Los Angeles Rams—I absolutely love football season, so seeing clear gift bags of Rams gear gave me a warm feeling. Even better than the official team apparel is an invite for a VIP experience at one of this season’s games! Who wouldn’t love that?! www.therams.com
And, if all that wasn’t enough, (which, trust me, it was!,) the VIPs each left with a signature Secret Room gift bag full of items one could rarely even imagine!!! Here are just a few of the highlights of the giant, sturdy LL Bean goodie bags:
First up is my shockingly favorite gift–Dr. Motion compression socks, which my poor edema-riddled ankles desperately need; then I spied several beauty items from Anastasia of Beverly Hills, including their Glow Kit; a stunningly beautiful scented candle from Lilou et Loïc; Guylian’s delicious assortment of creamy chocolates; Haiti Made’s attractive and hip leather bracelets; Seven-Fifty wine growler (which is basically a thermos for wine!,); Neutrogena’s Light Therapy Acne Mask; Pili Ani luxury face cream; B.tempt’d lace panties; Bliss Micro Magic Dermabrasion Treatment for a smooth face; a really cute Trunkettes bikini; Brooks Harvest Brittle, with nary a peanut in sight; lip care products from Aubio, (and who in Hollywood doesn’t need those?!,); and skin care minis, along with a beautiful gift mirror, from Decorte.
And the number of surprises in there was about double that! But it all adds up to the same conclusion—Secret Room is the place to be at awards time!
