CELEB SIGHTINGS 52

I’ve been so busy spotting these celebs that I haven’t had time to tell you about them! So let’s just get right to the past two months of where these show biz folks have been turning-up in Los Angeles:

Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

3/31/17 Old school model and actress Susan Blakely leaving just a regular night at Theatre 40 in Beverly Hills.

4/2/17 Adam DeVine, of Modern Family and Pitch Perfect fame, at The Grove in West Hollywood. My friend noticed that he was wearing a tee-shirt that had what looked like a real girl’s photo on it, and said something to the effect of warning people to not trust her. Good one! (I was just shocked she wasn’t someone I know!)

4/5/17 Jesse Tyler Ferguson sitting right across the aisle from me at the opening night of Into The Woods at the Ahmanson Theatre in downtown LA. (Here’s my review of that musical: itsnotaboutme.tv/news/theatre-into-the-woods.)

4/6/17 Charlie Hunnam, Robert PattinsonSienna Miller, and Tom Holland in Hollywood, speaking after an industry screening of their new film, The Lost City of Z.

4/7/17 I was sitting right next to wonderful comic actor (and now internationally-known krump dancer) Ray Buktenica, of Rhoda and Life Goes On fame, at the opening night of The Encounter at The Wallis in Beverly Hills. I think he enjoyed the show almost as much as I did! (Here’s my review of that very interesting show; it’s receiving a special Tony award next week-end!: itsnotaboutme.tv/news/theatre-the-encounter.)

4/13/17 Hall of Fame NFL quarterback, Warren Moon, at his Sports 1 Marketing luncheon at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.  We chatted awhile, and he laughed when I told him that my way of doing sports radio was to comment on the athletes’ hair, looks, and relationships!  (You can read about the entire event here: itsnotaboutme.tv/news/eventsports-sports-1-marketings-rose-bowl-speaker-series.)

4/13/17  Melissa Manchester and Jason Alexander (although not together) at the Pasadena Playhouse for the opening night of The Originalist.  (Paired with the sighting above, that was quite the busy day, wasn’t it?)  (Here’s my review of the play: itsnotaboutme.tv/news/theatre-the-originalist.)

4/20/17  Borat nudie Ken Davidian, at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown LA, at the Brain Mapping Foundation Gala.  It seems that I see this guy everywhere I go! (If you missed it, here’s my review of that event: itsnotaboutme.tv/news/event-brain-mapping-foundation-gathering-for-cure-gala.)

4/25/17  Rapper (or whatever he is; I’ve heard of him as only an ex of one of the Jenners) Tyga at an event in an art gallery, of all places, in West Hollywood. (Here’s the rest of the story: itsnotaboutme.tv/news/partysportsart-tag-heuer-and-amgen-tour-of-california-partnership-party.)

5/5/17  I said a quick hello to American Idol’s Randy Jackson at GBK’s gift lounge for the MTV Movie and Television Awards, in Beverly Hills.

5/7/17  It must have been “TV night” at the opening of Archduke at the Mark Taper Forum in downtown LA because I spied at least four guys with current series on the tube (although they’re not celebs, per se, since I had to look up their names):  Peter Krause (the recently-cancelled The Catch,) Harry Ford (Code Black,) Jack Falahee (How To Get Away With Murder,) and Thomas Sadoski  (Life In Pieces.)  Thomas was with his wife, new mom Amanda Seyfried, but if he hadn’t kissed her on the head, I would have never known it was she.  She’s tiny, and wasn’t wearing a stitch of make-up, and her hair was downright filthy!  How do you go anyplace, let alone an event where paparazzi will be, with hair like that?! (Outside of that, here’s my review of the play: itsnotaboutme.tv/news/theatre-archduke.)

5/17/17 Brilliant British choreographer Matthew Bourne, prolific Disney composer Richard Sherman, and Dancing With The Stars judge Bruno Tonioli (what a trio!,) at the opening night of Matthew Bourne’s Early Adventures at The Wallis in Beverly Hills. Bruno was separate, but my pal, Richard Sherman, introduced me to Matthew. I almost fainted! There was a lot of talent in the theatre that night, including the dancers on the stage! (Here’s my review of that whole fabulous night: itsnotaboutme.tv/news/dance-matthew-bournes-early-adventures.)

5/18/17  Old school show biz couple Renee Taylor and Joe Bologna walking into a deli in Beverly Hills.  Poor Renee was using a walker, (which must mean she’s improving since the last time I saw her, when she was in a wheelchair,) so I’m glad I came along to hold the door open for her.  I give them total respect for still making it out of the house these days.

5/18/17 What a dynamic duo this was! Frankie Valli and the guy who plays him in Jersey Boys, former Dancing With The Stars pro Mark Ballas confabbing at the champagne toast reception right after the opening performance of that musical at the Ahmanson Theatre in downtown LA. [Note: They’re in the big pic at the top of the page, flanked by Frankie’s lady on the left, and Mark’s dancer mom, Shirley Ballas, on the right.  Photo by Karen Salkin.] (Here’s my review of that currently running musical: itsnotaboutme.tv/news/theatre-jersey-boys.)

6/4/17  Sam Elliott speaking after the first industry screening of his new film, The Hero, in Santa Monica.  And we got two celebs for the price of one at this one because he introduced his supportive wife, (and past and current co-star,) Katherine Ross, who was sitting in the audience. Sam kept scratching all different areas of his head, at least half the time he was on the stage. I don’t know if that was an affectation, or if he’s just in need of a good dandruff shampoo!

6/6/17 Billy Dee Williams at what seems to be his favorite market (since I’ve seen him there before—and I rarely shop there myself, so multiple sightings at this place are a tad bizarre,) Bristol Farms in Beverly Hills.
