STARLOOKS PRO COSMETICS INTRO

Yesterday, Alice and I took a day trip to a mall in Downey for the Starlooks Cosmetics event. I love investigating different areas of Los Angeles, and visiting a new mall, so this was really fun.

And discovering a make-up line with really attractive products was the best part, of course!

I had mistakenly thought that this was the launch of the line, but when I researched Starlooks, I found-out that they’ve been around for awhile. So, I’m glad to finally be in the know!

The focus of the event was for guests to have their make-up done by pros, and there were several stations at which to do that. We were fortunate enough to get Claudia Dolce, who was not only artistic, but uber-pleasant, as well, which is exactly what you want in someone who’s working on your face!

I really have never liked anyone else doing my make-up, because shockingly, no one seems to be able to know how to do it right. Plus, I finally came to realize, in the last couple of years, that I don’t want brushes, pencils, etc. that have touched other people’s faces to touch mine. (I know that all make-up artists clean their brushes very frequently, sharpen pencils after every use, and do other things to keep their equipment as sanitary as possible, but I just don’t like to risk it.) But Claudia was fabulous, in general, but in specific, she let us play with the products ourselves as much as we wanted to, and then she jumped in with procedures that I deemed the safest, such is doing brows, bronzer, and blush. And she did them all perfectly!

But the most important thing here is that we loved every product we tried from this company! Alice, who’s a much sought-after make-up artist herself, (when she’s not working with me, of course,) went absolutely nuts over the Starlooks eyeshadow palettes! I’ve never seen her so excited! The one with fifteen shades was both of our favorite find of the day.

And how’s this for knowing that we like the products?; when we walked in, we were greeted by the two cute girls who had invited us. I looked at one of them and said, “OMG—I love your lipstick and the shimmer on your cheeks! You have got to tell me where you got them!” And she answered, “Right over there—these are both from the Starlooks line!” So I made a beeline right over to get both of them. I’m sure that Sarah’s cute face helped the products look as good as they did, but they actually looked almost the same on funny-faced me! I was so happy.

We spent a lot of time chatting with the rep for the company, Rebekah Schaefer, whose lipstick never moved at all, and she said it was from their line, too, of course. She told me that one of the features of the make-up is that it’s designed to be long-wearing, which is a bonus.

And during the all-day event, they served fruit-flavored sodas to keep our strength up, and had a fun photo booth, (with great lighting I was happy to see,) where we could dress-up, (Alice choose a crazy goddess head-dress, while always-understated moi went with a pink boa, of course,) and take photos at any time. I’m so glad that Alice and I waited to do that until after we had our make-up done! Trust me, it was a way better that way.
