GO FLAWLESS MOBILE BEAUTY LAUNCH PARTY

Last week-end, in the midst of all the MTV Movie Awards suites, I made time to go to an upscale beauty event, and I’m glad I did.  It was to celebrate the launch of Go Flawless Mobile Beauty, which brings all kinds of cosmetics services to your home, hotel, and even office. It was held in a suite at Beverly Hills’ gorgeous Montage Hotel, a location I’m beginning to love!

The organizers did it a really fun way–it felt kind-of like we ladies (and one brave gent) were at a pajama party; it was very casual and friendly.  As we entered the suite (you could hear the fun all the way down the hall, when you got off the elevator,) right away we saw some fun clothing and jewelry, which I’m assuming were for sale, but I never even had time to peruse the wares.

That’s because I walked right over to the beautiful refreshments, set-up in three areas of the living room.   I understand that two famous Armenian caterers, Karina and Anait, did it all.   It was the perfect mix of healthful, easy-to-eat in a crowd, finger foods like hummus, endive with orzo, and giant cheese puffs, and sweet treats like mini-cupcakes and fresh cherries.

Many of the guests were there to get injectables from Go Flawless founder, Gohar Abrahamyan, who looks great herself, so I would trust her if I were into that kind-of procedure.  But I always need my face to move, so people can know just I’m really thinking.  (Yeah–like I don’t just come out and say it!) Plus, the fluid faces I tend to make are part of my on-camera persona, (which those of you who used to watch Karen’s Restaurant Revue are probably all too familiar with,) and I plan to start a podcast soon, so I don’t need to go there yet, knock on wood, though I’m sure most people in this town are grateful for such easy ways to stop wrinkles nowadays. www.goflawless.com

I had signed-up for eyelash extensions at this event, but since I showed up with curlier hair than even I knew I had, I was secretly hoping that they could also fit me in for a flat-iron sesh, which they did.  I had the owner of Beverly Hills’ wonderful new Style Bar, Sharona Rahimian, working on me!  That was great because I got to hear all about the fabulous concept over there of getting your hair styled, a mani/pedi, and make-up done, all in under an hour, if you need to get out, and also all for under $100!!!  Pretty good deal, if you ask me.  I was so intrigued that I had to go try it out for myself just yesterday, and I’ll be giving you all the fabulous deets next week, so please check back for that. (I’m dying to sing its praises this very second, but I want to devote an entire column to just them, so you have to wait until next week.) www.stylebarbh.com

Then, at the Mobile Beauty event, I had eyelash extensions done by Monica Deptula of The Lash Factory.  She made it really easy and quick.  I was planning on napping during it, because most others have taken a long time for the same results, but Monica got me in and out pretty quick, which I really appreciated after all my week-end activities. [Note: it’s been almost two weeks, and nary a lash has fallen off!!! That’s a first for me, in all my lash experience. Usually by now, they’re an uneven mess. So, extra thanks to Monica!] www.thelashfactory.com

I had a little time left over because of the quick lashes, so I decided to try a neck-firming procedure, called “sublative rejuvenation,” performed by Denise Peckson of American Laser Skincare.  She told me that you see results in about six months, so I’ll, of course, let you know then.  Let you know? I mean that I’ll sing it from the rooftops if it works!!!  With a tiny chin, my neck has always been an issue, even when I was super-skinny, so I’m hoping for great results.

If you can’t wait the six months to hear how mine turns-out, and want to look into it yourself now, I just have to warn you that it’s a tad uncomfortable, and you can’t be seen for a couple of days.  There are a lot of precautions to take, thankfully, so please check into them first.  Because this was a beauty event, and not their office, I just went into it blindly, and then had to miss the next few days’ worth of events, so, if I had understood what was happening, I wouldn’t have done it at that time.  But I still would’ve wanted to give it a shot later on because I think it will probably pay off in the end. Fingers crossed. www.americanlaser.com

So, now I’m out and about, rocking my oh-so-natural-looking lashes, and will soon have the new mani/pedi/blow-dry to tell you about.  This afternoon of beauty was a girly-girl’s dream! And since they’re mobile, you can have it all yourself at any time. You go, girl! Flawless, that is.
