MY 2,800TH COLUMN FOR THIS E-ZINE!

I know that 2,800 is an odd number of anything to celebrate, but every hundred columns here on INAM is quite the accomplishment for me.

The Hall of Columns in the US Capitol, which makes it the perfect image for both today’s, well, column, and this super-important Election Day! It features only 28 columns, so just times it by 100 in your minds to get the 2,800 that I’m celebrating today!

I recently found-out that when I started ItsNotAboutMe.TV—seventeen years ago!—my web developer thought that I would drop it pretty quickly. (So much so that he even designed it with a bit of something weird on the technical side, that I never knew about until last year!) Even though I’ve never seen myself as a particularly disciplined individual, I don’t know why he would have thought that of me. After all, I had been doing my TV show for beaucoup years at that point! And I actually had no plans of stopping it, until this e-zine started really taking up most of my time.

My web guy had watched me host said TV show, Karen’s Restaurant Revue, for several years. During that time, he had even hired me to be the restaurant and entertainment critic for BeverlyHillsPeople.com, thus starting-off my writing career. I stuck to that job for three years before he suggested that I start my own site because the only reason anyone was visiting BHP was to read my column on it, Out To Lunch. So, at least by that point, he should have realized that I’m not a quitter.

However, to be perfectly honest with you all, the longevity of INAM does surprise even me a bit, which is most likely why I celebrate every hundredth column on here.

So today I wish myself a very Happy 2,800th! Now on to the next hundred already! I know that this next month will be a juicy one, so please stay tuned.
