This was the most fun event of Grammys week! It was a gifting suite, with beauty services and lots of food, in a happening club, with live music!!! OMG! What more could we girlfriends want?! (And, of course, as the title says, the champagne was flowing.)

As Alice, my contributing writer on this one, stated, “The atmosphere was exciting, the live band played cool danceable beats, and everyone was in the mood to party!”

Couture nightclub in Hollywood was the perfect place to be on the Friday afternoon before the Grammys. And the rain outside just made us all a little happier to be inside a club, even though it was far from club hours. There was such a great vibe going all day.

The organizers passed wonderful food on individual plates, not the “just grab it,” usual kind of party fare. We were too busy to try most of it, but Alice said the “most delicious large coconut shrimp was so good it felt like a full meal!” And there were also all-day giant cupcakes, which were “so deliciously light and flavorful.”

But my favorite was the authentic gumbo on rice, served-up by the guys from Manly Handz, who were there doing double duty. That was out of this world, and I’ve been craving it ever since! They also had delicious tiny round banana breads and brownies bites for us. Cute guys who can massage and cook? The girls who snag this crew will sure be lucky!

So, let me tell you some more about them right now, along with rest of the fun we had at the Girlfriends & Champagne Grammys Gifting suite:

Manly Handz—In addition to making all that food for us, they also provided fabulous foot massages, by Eddie Harris. Since it was dark and loud, I was able to just sit back, close my eyes, and let Eddie take away the tension that built-up in my tootsies from an intense day of partying. (And he didn’t even make fun of my tiny toes! Big props to him for biting his tongue on that subject!) One of my pals asked if Mr. X would be jealous that another guy was massaging my feet. Is she nuts? Even though he has his own “manly hands,” Mr. X was thrilled to have someone relieve him of that chore delight for once! www.manlyhandz.com

Ms. Glitter Nail Lounge–An adorable young girl from this company, Maurisha Allen, worked on my nails, practically in the dark! (Thank goodness for cell phone flashlights, right?) I don’t know how she did a full manicure in those low-lit conditions, but my super-sparkly nails looked even better in the light, and have lasted for a full two weeks now! Wow. Tonia Z. did a quick polish change for Alice who said she was “so great.” She added, “Tonia had to do mine standing-up (because it was so crowded in there,) and she totally rose to the occasion.” www.msglitternaillounge.com

Aether79 Necklace—When Alice saw the necklaces that this company was gifting, she went nuts for them! She deemed them to be “enlightening and beautiful,” and she pointed-out that they’re “made with a gorgeous authentic cut stone inlay,” and that each stone “represents something that you would like to have more of in your life.”  Her favorite was the agate which represents creativity; she said, “I can never have enough of that in my life.” Obviously, with this e-zine, that one is not my issue, so I just admired the beauty of the pieces, and not what they meant. (Although, if there was one that represented being thinner, you know I would gone there!) www.aether79.com

Royal Treatment Pampering Services—We are always so happy to see Antone Murray and his crew at an event. Besides that they’re excellent masseurs, they’re also always so upbeat. And cute! Alice said that Antone “hit all the right spots, and knew exactly my pressure points.” Curtis Clark was gentle on my broken back, while still breaking up the ever-present knots. www.getroyaltreatmentps.com

Psychic Priscilla—While I luxuriated in my foot rub, Alice visited the psychic, Priscilla, who did a tarot reading for her. She told me that she was really intrigued by what the cards told her about having love in her life again. That always makes for a good reading, right? www.psychicpriscilla.net

Bling Junky–This apparel company was gifting a choice of blinged-out tee shirts and caps, (with a few un-blingy ones mixed-in,) and everyone was having a hard time deciding among them. They can even customize your own items for you! www.blingjunky.com

We had a blast here!  And I can only imagine how much more fun the event became as it continued into the evening, after I had to leave to be elsewhere. Next time, I’m staying until the bitter end!
