<\/a>But the worst clich\u00e9s, to me, are the ones we hear on television competition shows; those are the most annoying ones, by far. So, sadly, this is my longest list ever!<\/p>\n(And, in case you’re wondering, I’ve been working on this list since way before I saw that good comedian, Tom Cotter, do a bit about cliches on America’s Got Talent<\/em>. His list is way different than mine. His was hysterical; these are just sad. And, while he’s<\/em> fabulous, that show is one of the biggest offenders of all time! Every sentence out of the judges’ and contestants’ mouth is a clich\u00e9!!!)<\/p>\n Here are just a few examples:<\/p>\n It’s everything to me. [Note: Really? Your family, friends, health, etc. all mean nothing to you???]<\/p>\n It’s my dream.<\/p>\n Go big or go home.<\/p>\n It would be a dream come true.<\/p>\n It’s a blessing to get to perform…<\/p>\n It means my whole life.<\/p>\n I just gotta bring it.<\/p>\n You need to step it up.<\/p>\n I want it, I want it bad.<\/p>\n It means the world to me.<\/p>\n That’s what it’s all about.<\/p>\n Your what the show is all about.<\/p>\n I need this.<\/p>\n That was amazing. (Btw–\u201damazing\u201d is the most overused, and incorrectly <\/em>used, word in the English language right now.)<\/p>\n I refuse to lose.<\/p>\n You did wonderful. (Stated often by Howie Mandel; so he does not speak \u201cwonderful.\u201d Ugh!)<\/p>\n I have to take it to the next level.<\/p>\n I’m never going to stop. (Why would you???)<\/p>\n I sacrificed so much. (Guess what\u2014it wasn’t a sacrifice\u2014it was your own choice! We all had to give up something to try for the career of our choice. Get a dictionary, people! You may have \u201crisked,\u201d but you far from \u201csacrificed!\u201d)<\/p>\n I’m going to leave it all out there on the stage.<\/p>\n On AGT<\/em>, in specific, the judges say everyone is \u201coriginal.\u201d Idiot Howie actually lauded a contestant for sounding \u201coriginal, and a little like\u201d someone else; so how is that original<\/em>???<\/p>\n The only thing I ever heard a contestant on that show say that is<\/em> original is, \u201cI’m dream chasing,\u201d stated by that wonderful young street dancer\/contortionist Turf.
