GOLDEN GLOBES 2025\u2014FINALLY!<\/h1>\n

I\u2019ve delayed this Golden Globes review a couple of weeks because I didn\u2019t think it would be right to discuss something so basically shallow during the catastrophic fires that have decimated much of Los Angeles, and the hearts of just about all of its residents.<\/p>\n

But I realize that life must go on now, and it would not help anyone for me to just keep writing depressing articles all the time. So I\u2019m attempting to get back to normal now, and I hope to entertain as many people as I can with my writings.<\/p>\n

And to further clarify, I had thought of just scrapping this review altogether, even though I had already written it, but several people have told me that they keep looking for it in this e-zine. And I hate letting anyone down, so even though this article is a tad late this year, let\u2019s get to it already. What follows is basically just my notes, without being refined too much into more coherent sentences.<\/p>\n

OVERALL FEELINGS ON THE 2025 GOLDEN GLOBES<\/strong><\/p>\n

I almost couldn\u2019t write a lot during the Golden Globes arrivals and show itself because I was so confused and disgusted by all the phoniness and plastic surgery.<\/p>\n

And I apologize to my Twitter followers for not live-tweeting the Globes this year; that Sunday was also a big sports<\/em> day, and<\/em> work day for me, so I was not watching the awards show proceedings entirely live.<\/p>\n

Perhaps most important of all to the proceedings, because the show was waaaay too early this year, I had not seen any of those movies at that point. (Or yet, actually.) Mr. X and I had just finished watching all the holiday<\/em>\u00a0movies that morning, (because that became our annual tradition seven years ago, and that day was January 3rd, which still falls into \u201clittle Christmas,\u201d) and the nominations for the SAG Awards, (which Mr. X and I vote on,) hadn\u2019t come out yet, so I had turned down all my screening invitations until then. And in the TV category, we\u2019ve seen only Abbott Elementary<\/em>, just because who has all that time to watch television???\u00a0 Show biz folks who keep telling each other how they loooove each other\u2019s series are big fat liars!!!<\/p>\n

The one good thing out of all of it is that I was surprised that most people did not look like idiots in their attire and hair-dos. So there\u2019s that.<\/p>\n

But speaking of tresses, I should sue\u2014soooo many women were rocking my\u00a0perennial very long straight hair! (That is, when they weren\u2019t thinking they were being cool to rock these uber-short cuts, like\u00a0Emma Stone<\/strong> was. One of those crazy super-short \u2018dos is what happened to me by accident when I was doing my TV show back in the day! Not attractive.\u00a0Back then, Mr. X said I looked like Anybody\u2019s from West Side Story<\/em>!) Only their<\/em> long hair is all fake while my<\/em>\u00a0luxurious locks are 100% real!!!<\/p>\n

Now let\u2019s go in order of the Golden Globes afternoon and evening:<\/p>\n

E ARRIVALS<\/strong><\/p>\n

The two female hosts, both of whom I\u2019ve never seen nor heard of before, were sooooo much better than E\u2019s usual one,\u00a0Laverne Cox.<\/p>\n

But, if I hear the stupid term \u201cholding space\u201d one more time\u2026<\/p>\n

I had to work hard to find-out who the woman in the red raggy (on purpose) dress was, (it was Ali Wong<\/strong>,) but she appeared to be the most genuine and truly happy one walking in.<\/p>\n

What’s up with people like the host of E\u2019s coverage, showing their different-colored-from-the-rest-of-their-hair roots??? I don’t know who told them that that’s a style, but it looks dreadful. If someone told him to jump off the Empire State Building, would they? (You can take the girl out of Brooklyn but you can\u2019t take Brooklyn out of the girl. Yeah, it is true.)<\/p>\n

Why is Zo\u00eb Saldana<\/strong> pronouncing everyone\u2019s names with a Spanish accent?\u00a0 Even the American ones! Who does she think she is\u2014Hilaria Baldwin???<\/p>\n

And she said, \u201cI\u2019m not ashamed to use this phrase\u2026holding space.\u201d Of course.<\/p>\n

What are show host Nikki Glaser<\/strong>\u2019s teeth doing?<\/p>\n

Abbot Elementary<\/em>\u2019s principal, Janelle James<\/strong>, is a pretty woman, but she definitely needs long hair!<\/p>\n

I love that she said, \u201cI need a tall guy because many of the Hollywood men are tiny, tiny, and I am a statuesque woman so I need someone who can stand beside me.\u201d I love that honesty! (I guess Zendaya did not get that message.)<\/p>\n

There were finally actors I love\u2014married couple Adam Brody and Leighton Meester<\/strong>.\u00a0 I love them separately and now together.\u00a0 (So I especially hate that they lost their home in the fires just a few days later.)<\/p>\n

How chubby did Amy Adams<\/strong> get??? And why?!<\/p>\n

Eddie Redmayne<\/strong> looks so young! Younger than he ever did. Mr. X said he looked like he was his own son!<\/p>\n

Pamela Anderson<\/strong> needs to go back to wearing make-up, ASAP!!!<\/p>\n

\"Marin<\/a>

I hate to say it, but Ariana Grande<\/strong> does not look well, at all.<\/p>\n

Demi Moore<\/strong> has had soooo much surgery! She now looks like an impersonator of herself!<\/p>\n

And then she was talking about that her dog still recognized her when she changed her hair or something. Of course<\/em> it recognized her no matter what she looked<\/em> like! They go by smell and feel, not looks!<\/p>\n

Maren Morris<\/strong> is too young to have had all that surgery. Let\u2019s face it\u2014she was not a pretty girl to begin with, but now\u2014oyoyoy.<\/p>\n

GOLDEN GLOBES TELECAST<\/strong><\/p>\n

Or, as I refer to it, the Ozempic pageant.<\/p>\n

As far as that first (and I hope, last,) time host goes, in the only two or three times I\u2019ve ever seen Nikki Glaser before, I\u2019ve found her to be creepy, unfunny, and desperate. But this time, outside of her\u00a0annoying voice, hanging little boobs, awful make-up which exacerbated her recent facial surgery, and dreadful dirty hair, I think she really did okay. Of course, Mr. X and I, (and I\u2019m pretty sure just about every viewer,) really missed Ricky Gervais, even though he hasn\u2019t hosted it in years. But no other host can hold a candle to him.<\/p>\n

We have never found Adam Sandler<\/strong> to be funny, although I think he\u2019s most likely a really nice guy, (and I love what he said about getting his wife to marry him,) but he really cracked Mr. X up here when he was kind enough to repeat \u201cChalamet\u201d for the host in his trademark way.<\/p>\n

When Zoe Saldana won, she said, \u201cI don\u2019t have much time,\u201d and then made her speech five minutes<\/em> long!<\/p>\n

Jean Smart<\/strong>\u2019s dress was classy. And her speech was what all<\/em> speeches should be.<\/p>\n

The TV announcer said something about \u201cdrama and comedy all seated together in one room\u201d like it was a big deal. When are they not???<\/p>\n

Why did the producers situate the presenters with their backs to half the audience? Perhaps to feature more audience celebs than usual.<\/p>\n

Anthony Ramos and Kathy Bates<\/strong> were the best presenting duo. He was so genuine.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve always loved Jodie Foster<\/strong>, on so many levels. (The day she won her second Oscar, I<\/em> was getting the go-ahead to drive on the Warner Bros. lot for an audition, while she was there arguing with the guard to let her on for some reason. I had to talk him into it for her!) I loved her outfit at the Globes; she wasn\u2019t trying too hard, as most others were.<\/p>\n

And she got even better when she said something about \u201cthe joy that comes from doing really hard, meaningful, good work.\u201d<\/p>\n

The biggest laugh I had during all those hours of watching the proceedings was from Sofia Vergara<\/strong> being fake-pissed that she lost to Jodie Foster, who always<\/em> wins.<\/p>\n

How is Kerry Washington<\/strong> eight years younger than JLo??? I would have sworn it was the other way around! You go, JLo.<\/p>\n

I was thrilled that I didn\u2019t see anyone<\/em> looking at their phones until the show was over halfway through.<\/p>\n

Brady Corbet<\/strong>, the director if The Brutalist<\/em> gave a speech that got me choked-up. He was also the only one who spared a thought (publicly) for actress Aubrey Plaza, whose husband had just committed earlier that day. And his seven-year journey to get this film made is incredible.<\/p>\n

The most grateful winner there was Fernanda Torres<\/strong>, who won Best Actress for the obscure film I\u2019m Still Here<\/em>. I had never heard one word about it! Nor of her<\/em>!<\/p>\n

Gal Gadot<\/strong> was the most beautiful celeb, by far.<\/p>\n

Daniel Craig<\/strong> looked thirty years older than he is!!! We weren\u2019t even sure that\u2019s who he was unless they announced his nomination!<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s a wrap for my thoughts on the 2025 Golden Globes! I\u2019ll try to be on time with, and also tweet, the upcoming, (but possibly-postponed in these crazy times,) Grammys, SAG Awards, and Oscars. Knock on wood.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
