THE ABSOLUTELY WORST SHOW IN THE HISTORY OF TELEVISION!<\/h1>\n

And I should know because Mr. X and I have watched every episode of this crap this season! (I\u2019ll explain why in a second.)<\/p>\n

At least the cast is attractive.<\/p><\/div>\n

And the winner, (or should I say loser<\/em>,) is\u2026Doctor Odyssey<\/em>! It\u2019s on ABC, and stars Joshua Jackson and Don Johnson, who, at this point in his life and career, is probably happy to work a few hours a week and get a big paycheck, without regard to the material. Heck, I\u2019m sure most<\/em> of us would be happy to make a quarter<\/em> of what Don does, even though we\u2019d have to put our work principles aside to do so.<\/p>\n

Let me explain that, in normal times, I wouldn\u2019t have even sampled<\/em> the show. Or, if I did, I would have been done with its nonsense in a nano-minute. But with this harrowing political season, I was looking for something relatively mindless to watch to distract my brain from the horrors that are coming in this country for the next four years. (I\u2019m just getting back to watching a tiny bit of local news now<\/em>, and no national shows. And I\u2019m baby-stepping into even reading<\/em> anything.) So I decided to watch the most benign new show I could think of. And this was it.<\/p>\n

By the way, Mr. X hasn\u2019t watched network hour-long<\/em> shows in years. He\u2019ll join me for sitcoms and dance shows, but supposed dramas are not for him. But he\u2019s agreed to view some this season for the same reason that I\u2019m now watching shows I normally wouldn\u2019t. We\u2019re so shell-shocked by the election results that we just sit in front of the TV like bumps on a log, desperate for an escape.<\/p>\n

So Doctor Odyssey<\/em> seemed like a fun solution. But let me tell you\u2014it\u2019s seriously the worst show in the history of television! I hope that none of the rest of you have wasted your precious time on this drivel.<\/p>\n

As witless as the old Love Boat<\/em> series was, it was Shakespeare<\/em> compared to Doctor Odyssey<\/em>!<\/p>\n

The entire medical team cavorting on the beach…again. So who is standing by on the ship for health emergencies???<\/p><\/div>\n

In addition to the asinine weekly stories, what cruise ship has only one doctor and two nurses on board?! A quick google search told me that a \u201csmaller ship\u201d typically has two doctors, three nurses, and sometimes a medical secretary, while a \u201clarger ship\u201d typically has three doctors, five nurses, and a secretary.\u00a0And at least one medical professional has to be available 24\/7, so that this trio is always playing dress-up, partying, or hanging-out on the beach is just pure bunk. Not that a TV show has to be accurate, but this<\/em> set-up is egregiously imbecilic!<\/p>\n

On top of the medical crew\u2019s sparse availability, how does this<\/em> general practitioner, (the one played by Joshua Jackson,) have the ability to do bowel surgery<\/em> on the ship??? And with just one<\/em> nurse??? (The other nurse had an eye infection that day, which cleared-up by the next morning!) It\u2019s all insane. And not one of them seems to be on duty often\u2014they\u2019re always either in the pool, dancing, or\u2026having a threesome!!!<\/p>\n

Speaking of that last part, how do they get away with having a threesome on network<\/em> TV??? At 9PM, not even the late<\/em> primetime spot! That\u2019s so odd. And unwanted.<\/p>\n

\"Ryan<\/a>

Ryan Murphy creeping into the bigger image of Joshua Jackson.<\/p><\/div>\n

When that happened, I said to Mr. X, \u201cThis must be created and produced by some weirdo pervert!\u201d And then we discovered that they\u2019re both none other than\u2026Ryan Murphy! In our opinion, he peaked with Glee<\/em>.<\/p>\n

So do yourselves a favor\u2014miss this show! Even if you sit there just twiddling your thumbs for an hour, it will be a much better use of your time than watching the insanely awful Doctor Odyssey<\/em>.
