LITTLE WOMEN BALLET\u2019S WINTER SITE-SPECIFIC IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n Little Women Ballet.<\/p><\/div>\n I attended the Autumn version of this wonderful immersive experience\u00a0about a month and a half ago, and adored every aspect\u00a0of it! So I\u2019m thrilled that all of us have the opportunity again with the Winter rendition. Even if you\u2019ve seen the show for a different season, I have a feeling this holiday-themed one will be even more special! (Dates below.)<\/p>\n In case you missed my review of it, here\u2019s the link: itsnotaboutme.tv\/news\/dance-little-women-ballet-immersive-experience<\/a>.<\/p>\n But if you don\u2019t have time to read my glowing (and lengthy) breakdown of the entire\u00a0happening, or you just want to be surprised by it all, here\u2019s the gist: The ballet itself is based on the classic story of Little Women<\/em>. But the fun doesn\u2019t stop there. The entire experience is fascinating\u00a0from start to finish because it\u2019s performed at the intriguing\u00a0Heritage Square Museum near downtown LA. We audience members get to go into the various historic houses because each one features a ballet of a different chapter\u00a0of the tale. It\u2019s all quite charming.<\/p>\n I\u2019m expecting this new Winter experience to be even more captivating than the previous offering because of the holiday element\u00a0of it. I\u2019m honestly looking so forward to it.<\/p>\n Little Women Ballet, as is the image at the top of this page.<\/p><\/div>\n If traditional\u00a0<\/em>ballet is more up your alley, Little Women Ballet<\/em>\u00a0will debut their full-length version on\u00a0December 7, 2024\u00a0at the\u00a0Wilshire Ebell Theatre. There will be two<\/em>\u00a0performances of it on that one date.<\/p>\n All the info is on their website whose link is below.\u00a0 I hope to see you all there.<\/p>\n Little Women Ballet Immersive Experience<\/em>\u00a0running on November 22-24, 2024<\/strong> THE WORLD CHOREOGRAPHY AWARDS<\/strong><\/p>\n One event that I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve missed in a decade, (minus the pandemic year, of course,) is the World Choreography Awards<\/em>.\u00a0 It\u2019s a tad different each time, but what is always constant is the fun.\u00a0 And the talent on display!<\/p>\n Photo by Karen Salkin.<\/p><\/div>\n And now you all have the opportunity to be there this year, on Sunday, November 17th because I\u2019m telling you in advance, rather than doing a preview of the excellence.<\/p>\n As you may know, I absolutely love dance, and at this awards show, we all get to feel like we\u2019re in the world of professional dancers\u2014there\u2019s tons of schmoozing, meeting-and-greeting, and happiness involved.<\/p>\n But what distinguishes the World Choreography Awards<\/em>\u00a0from other<\/em>\u00a0dance shows is that, as the name states, the awards go to the often unsung choreographers<\/em>! I love that. (As a matter of fact, when I reviewed my very first awards show of theirs, in 2014, when it was called the \u201cWorld Dance<\/em>\u00a0Awards,\u201d I wrote: \u201cIt should really<\/em>\u00a0be called the \u201cWorld Choreography<\/em>\u00a0Awards\u201d because all the categories were for choreography, not for the actual dancers themselves. But, it can get away with \u201cdance\u201d because the choreographers got awarded for the dances they created.\u201d So I\u2019ve always felt a special kinship to the show because the producers, the fabulous duo of Allen Walls and Cheryl Baxter-Ratliff, re-titled it the very next year!)<\/p>\n A live WCA performance from a past year.
