Later on in the day that my article was published, someone began a petition to help save the fabulous series. (I\u2019m not saying that\u00a0my\u00a0<\/em>writing was the impetus for it, but the timing certainly does fit.) I\u2019m just thrilled about the action, no matter\u00a0how<\/em>\u00a0it happened. If\u00a0I\u00a0knew how to get those things started, I would have begun it myself. That\u2019s how desperate I am for this\u00a0very worthwhile television show\u00a0to continue!<\/p>\n So, before I tell you anything more, here is the link to sign the petition: www.change.org\/p\/save-so-help-me-todd-on-cbs<\/a>. (You just enter your name and email. Then you can choose to stay anonymous, but your vote still counts. And don’t fall for it if they ask for a donation afterwards; just sign and get out of there! It\u2019s a bit odd that they even ask people to \u201cchip in\u201d because change.org\u00a0is a very reputable website. So no worries at all about signing the petition.)<\/p>\n What the petition page looks like.<\/p><\/div>\n As you may have noticed in my article last week, I suggested that\u00a0\u201csome other entity pick-up this wonderful show so we fans have something on TV to look forward to each week.\u201d And now this petition gives me hope that CBS, or alternatively, another TV service might listen to us viewers.\u00a0 (In the past, similar campaigns have helped to save many shows, including\u00a0Family Guy<\/em>,\u00a0Brooklyn Nine-Nine<\/em>,\u00a0Arrested Development<\/em>,\u00a0Community<\/em>,\u00a0Roswell<\/em>,\u00a0Friday Night Lights<\/em>,\u00a0Cagney and Lacey<\/em>,\u00a0Futurama<\/em>,\u00a0Designing Women<\/em>, and Quantum Leap<\/em>, going all the way back to the original\u00a0Star Trek<\/em>!!)<\/p>\n I hate to say it, (and I bite my tongue,) but I have a hunch that CBS did this on purpose so that they can move the show over to its streaming service, Paramount +, for which viewers have to pay, without people complaining about it. It\u2019s just about the only service Mr. X and I don\u2019t subscribe to; we, along with several of our pals, have had trouble with acquiring the few-day free trial of it in the past, so we gave up on it. (Trust me, Mr. X and I have tried!) It\u2019s where CBS showed the Julianna Margulies-less\u00a0The\u00a0Good Wife<\/em>\u00a0spin-off,\u00a0The Good\u00a0Fight<\/em>, in 2017. So I have a feeling the network\u2019s plan is to make everyone relieved when they \u201cpick\u00a0Todd<\/em>\u00a0up,\u201d rather than making them be disgruntled when they\u00a0realize they now have to pay for it. Who knew she\u2019s so funny???
