However, I have a feeling that many of you will be partying tomorrow<\/em> night, because it’s Saturday, which means that instead of doing a pub<\/em> crawl on Sunday, you’ll be doing a bathroom floor<\/em> crawl! (At least that’s what I understand<\/em>\u2014I don’t drink, so I’ve never been drunk.)<\/p>\n After I had already written almost this entire column, I finally realized what\u00a0today<\/em>, March 15th,\u00a0is\u2014it\u2019s the dreaded Ides of March! So, just as Julius Caesar was warned–Beware\u00a0the Ides of March!<\/p>\n As I shared on a previous occasion when I published my Happy St. Patrick’s Day column on the 15th because it occurred on the upcoming week-end, I have a wee amusing anecdote about these two days together. Here ’tis:<\/p>\n I think the knife in the background says it all!<\/p><\/div>\n One of my less-bright pals, who gets many things wrong in life, called me on one past March 15th, and asked seriously, \u201cKaren, be honest\u2014do you have to worry about the Ides if you\u2019re not Irish?!\u201d I couldn\u2019t even laugh at the absurdity of that query; her perpetual wrongness usually makes me laugh, but this one took the cake. I had to explain that the only things that being Irish and the Ides of March have in common is…that they both begin with an \u201cI!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n Getting back to reality, just as these dates worked out five years ago, not only is this Sunday, the 17th, St. Paddy’s Day, but it’s also the college basketball March Madness Selection Show, which those who’ve been paying attention to this e-zine know I don’t want to miss. It’s tons of fun to see all the young players get soooo excited when their school is called.<\/p>\n<\/a>
