HAPPY VALENTINE\u2019S DAY 2024<\/h1>\n

This column is either going to be the upper I mean it to be, or perhaps a downer to some lovers out there. (If that’s the case for you, sorry about that.)<\/p>\n

This is an image that defines true love for me!<\/p><\/div>\n

As I always advise, Valentine’s\u00a0Day is really nothing special, except to retailers, so please do not feel sad if you don’t have a love to share it with. It’s just one day, for goodness sake!<\/p>\n

Actually, it’s just about twelve hours because of sleep and getting ready and working, shopping, etc. So that doesn\u2019t leave much time for stressing over it, anyway.<\/p>\n

I do have to admit that I don’t know what it’s like to\u00a0not<\/em>\u00a0have a Valentine because I’ve always had a boyfriend since I was fifteen! (And sometimes two at a time!) But I don’t remember most of them being very romantic\u00a0dudes, so Valentine’s Day has never been a big deal to me. I’ve honestly never felt hurt when my baes have not done enough, or often anything<\/em>, to celebrate it.<\/p>\n

Mr. X and I\u00a0do\u00a0<\/em>occasionally do something special for the holiday, like see the Disney classic\u00a0Lady and the Tramp<\/em>\u00a0in a theatre, or go out to lunch or dinner or, most happily and appropriately for romance, afternoon tea. But, I promise you, I’m just as happy to stay home and ignore it all.<\/p>\n

\"331042265_877812070163148_4756213595630427861_n\"<\/a>Actually, we\u00a0are<\/em>\u00a0doing something different today! We’ll be going to a specialty eye doctor for me! It’s the only appointment I could get for months, and I will\u00a0love<\/em>\u00a0seeing him finally, so there you have it! Happy Valentine’s Day to us.<\/p>\n

And there is one really good perk of today, for\u00a0everyone<\/em>, which will actually begin\u00a0tomorrow<\/em>. Have you guessed it? It’s…all the candy will go on sale, in a big way, now that the holiday is officially over. So that’s a universal win! Yay!<\/p>\n

And now I wish you\u00a0all<\/em>, no matter what your love circumstance is, a very Happy Valentine’s Day. Enjoy it, (as you should\u00a0every<\/em>\u00a0day,) any way you can.
