Everything Everywhere All At Once<\/em> is like\u00a0a\u00a0bad acid trip. Actually, forget\u00a0LSD<\/em>\u2014these writers must have been on\u00a0crack<\/em>! If\u00a0I<\/em>\u00a0didn\u2019t understand it even with my 147IQ, I don\u2019t know how anybody else did. (But most people will make believe<\/em> they did.)\u00a0The Emperor\u2019s<\/em> New\u00a0Clothes<\/em>\u00a0has got\u00a0nothing<\/em>\u00a0on this twaddle!<\/p>\n The actors deserve\u00a0medals<\/em>\u00a0for this, not\u00a0Oscars<\/em>. They’ll probably win all or most of the awards, anyhow, because that\u2019s what everyone thinks is\u00a0supposed<\/em>\u00a0to happen, especially since there’s a dearth of black<\/em> nominees this year. (So now people want\u00a0Asians<\/em>\u00a0to win, so that this<\/em> year’s Oscars aren\u2019t labeled \u201cso white\u201d again. I<\/em>\u00a0always just want the best work<\/em> to win; I never vote by race, religion, nationality, sexuality, nor even of whom I\u2019m a fan, as you’ll find-out in the next paragraph.) [Note: But Danielle Deadwyler, the star of\u00a0Till<\/em>, may beat Michelle Yeoh out for a SAG<\/em> because people are pissed she wasn\u2019t nominated for an Oscar<\/em> for her work.]<\/p>\n Jamie Lee Curtis, the other nominated actor.<\/p><\/div>\n Speaking of the actors in Everything Everywhere All At Once<\/em>, a quartet of them are nominated for various awards, including Jamie Lee Curtis, which is absolutely ridiculous! I like her personally<\/em>, (I’ll tell you why in a second,) but sticking your stomach out and acting deadpan-ly sour does not<\/em> make you deserve an Oscar nomination! If it did<\/em>, I’d<\/em> win one every day!!! (In case you don’t know, the other three nominees from the film are Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Stephanie Hsu.)<\/p>\n Okay, digression to share my story of why I’m a personal<\/em> fan of Jamie Lee’s: Many years ago, she and a friend of hers walked by me at an event, and I heard her tell her pal friend that something was \u201cthe best show in the history of television.\u201d Just as I was wondering which one she was talking about, Jamie stopped, turned around, and came right over to me, introduced herself, and said, \u201cYours is the best show in the history of television!\u201d That’s right\u2014she had been talking about my<\/em> show!!! I almost fell over! And then a couple of years later, she and Mr. X did a movie together, and when he told her that he’s \u201cMr. X,\u201d she screamed, and told him to tell me that she \u201cinsists\u201d on guesting on my show! I rarely had guests on, so I forgot to follow-up with her, but just because she was so nice to share her very positive thoughts about Karen’s Restaurant Revue<\/em>\u00a0with us, I became a mutual fan. (Although, at the time, all I could stupidly think to blurt-out back to her was, \u201cI love your father!\u201d)<\/p>\n Now back to Everything Everywhere All At Once<\/em>. Mr. X tried hard to like it for about forty minutes, (he kept saying, Give it a chance,\u201d even though I gave it a thousand<\/em> chances,) but after about another<\/em> forty minutes, he sarcastically said, \u201cBring the kids!\u201d (Meaning: don’t<\/em>. Obvi.) He recommends that people watch the first ten minutes, and then go do something else for the next two+ hours, because, as he said, you don\u2019t learn anything\u00a0from that point on.<\/p>\n And–I mean this seriously–people with any kind of seizure disorder really need to stay away from this movie. All the quick cuts are brutal!<\/p>\n<\/a>
