WORRISOME JULY UPDATES<\/h1>\n

\"\"<\/a>For very many years, July has been my favorite month.\u00a0\u00a0 It contains my anniversary with Los Angeles, several of them with Mr . X, and lots of summer fun, including the pro tennis tournament at UCLA that I attended faithfully for many years.<\/p>\n

Then last year, with Clarence’s sudden illness and subsequent death, July became my most painful month.\u00a0\u00a0And now it’s gotten even worse.\u00a0\u00a0My precious little mother is in the hospital right now, with some serious yet un-figured-out illness, perhaps kidney-related, and I must fly to New York as soon as I can get a plane out.<\/p>\n

So, my planned column about how happy I am that today is my anniversary with Los Angeles, usually my absolutely favorite occasion, has gone by the wayside.\u00a0\u00a0Just for a short while, I hope.<\/p>\n

I’ll keep you all apprised of my little mo’s situation, and appreciate any good thoughts you can send her way.<\/p>\n
