<\/a>I feel awful for Mr. X that any celebrating will be mostly his<\/em> responsibility\u00a0this year. Usually friends take me out all month\u2014to lunches, dinners, afternoon teas, desserts, events, you name it. And some just pop over and bring me fun presents. But, with none of those being possibilities this year, poor Mr. X has to do it all. He usually begins the day with a \u201ccard search.\u201d He puts cards all over the house, (all with cash in them, of course,) and even though I find most pretty quickly, I\u2019m always surprised by some others as the day goes on.<\/p>\nBut I don\u2019t want him to go into stores to shop for cards in this dangerous time. So he can\u2019t even buy me any gifts<\/em> now, either. (I hate when he purchases anything for me on-line because we\u2019re both too lazy to ever return anything on there!) So, he\u2019ll just have to…do the cooking<\/em> today! I can\u2019t wait to see how that<\/em> turns-out!<\/p>\n In all seriousness, with how many lives were lost in the past year, I am just grateful\u2014very<\/em> grateful–to be having another birthday! I mean it. That\u2019s such a gift in itself these days.<\/p>\n So, to lighten the mood a tad and give you all a little bit of mirth, here\u2019s a fun video I did a couple of years ago, (looking awful, I admit,) about my funniest birthday party ever: www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NLFgQRCDZ1M<\/a>. Even if you\u2019ve seen it before, a tale of my personal bday pain is always sure to cheer everyone up somewhat! [Note: Spoiler Alert: After re-watching this video to make sure it was good enough to show you again, we had to run right out and get a Carvel ice cream cake again for my birthday today<\/em>! I haven\u2019t had one since then. I just hope it will be decorated better.]<\/p>\n I\u2019m really wishing hard for the pandemic to finally be over and people to stop dying. And for the vaccine to become available to everyone, and for it to work perfectly! Outside of my health issues, I\u2019m not in any group that should rightfully be getting it first, so I\u2019m waiting my turn patiently. But I can\u2019t think of anything I\u2019d love more as a bday gift. Oh wait\u2014I also wish for Orange Hitler\u2019s hateful followers to finally see the light and stop harming people! (My early<\/em> wish came true in November, when this country voted to get rid of the deranged despot-wannabe. So there\u2019s that.)<\/p>\n Other than those real-world gifts, I can\u2019t think of anything material<\/em> I need this year, outside of maybe some soul-soothing ice cream. (Anything in the chocolate category, of course.)<\/p>\n And, if you really want to help me celebrate, and don\u2019t already follow me on my social media platforms, I\u2019d so appreciate you doing so right now. (The joke is me making believe I didn\u2019t really wish something shallow.) But this<\/em> year, that\u2019s more in line with being just about my only<\/em> wish.<\/p>\n<\/a>And, I almost forgot, (only because it\u2019s been my daily<\/em> wish for ten months now)\u2014I wish for everyone to take the virus seriously, and do all the right things to get rid of it: wear a mask, wash hands often, don\u2019t gather, and stay home! And get the vaccine when you can; please don\u2019t be a crazy anti-vaxxer and endanger us all.<\/p>\n
