<\/a>We all need some light in our lives right now.<\/p><\/div>\n
Believe me\u2014I know how hard it is for\u00a0anything<\/em>\u00a0to be celebrated this year, but we can try, in as small a way as possible.<\/p>\n And right now, the absolute best gift you can give anyone<\/em> is to stay at home until it\u2019s really safe to start going out and\/or gathering again.\u00a0\u00a0And Hanukkah is perfect for that endeavor. It\u2019s an easy holiday that you can enjoy alone or with just the people in your household\u2014it\u2019s not really a big whoop.<\/p>\n What a proper Hanukkah feast should look like.<\/p><\/div>\n Mr. X and I will simply light the menorah for the eight nights, and that\u2019s it.\u00a0\u00a0Neither one of us can believe that my not-very-religious self actually knows the entire Hanukkah prayer\u2014in Hebrew!\u00a0\u00a0(I learned it as kid, which proves the theory that children learn another language easily when they\u2019re very young.)\u00a0\u00a0We\u2019ve never<\/em> needed gifts on any of those nights, so this year will not be difficult in that department.\u00a0\u00a0And even though I\u2019ve actually become a fabulous chef over the past nine months, I would not have a clue as to how to make latkes. And I have no idea how to play \u201cdreidel, either.\u201d (Does anybody<\/em>?)<\/p>\n<\/a>
