The Los Angeles version took place last week-end in Blvd. 3 in West Hollywood, one of my favorite venues in town.\u00a0 It\u2019s indoor-outdoor and upstairs-downstairs, with a good stage and sound system, and plenty of room, so no one ever has to feel squished in. [Note: For info on the other<\/em> cities this Expo will be in, check the link at the bottom of this page.]<\/p>\n The Expo featured ideas for\u00a0all<\/em>\u00a0kinds of parties, not just weddings.\u00a0 Some were even useful in day-to-day life.<\/p>\n And products that contained, or pertained to, cannabis were just a part of it.\u00a0 There was so much to peruse\u2014sweet treats, flowers, smoking devices, photo booths, wedding dresses, even glassware. Who knew that there are so many aspects to planning a wedding? (I guess people who get married. Duh.)<\/p>\n The “Welcome” fruit platter, with a hint of the goodie bags to come in the upper left. Photo by Karen Salkin.<\/p><\/div>\n And these Expo organizers thought of everything\u2014they even added the clever little touch of floating marijuana leaves in one of the shallow reflecting pools in the courtyard!<\/p>\n They also did something sort-of charming, which I\u2019ve never seen at an event before\u2014as we entered, before we even received our goodie bags, there was a platter of colorful fruit for us to begin our day with. I love that their slogan is \u201cTreat your body like royalty!\u201d Antone Murray\u2019s company was doing massages and facials all day, which is exactly what my friend and I needed right about then. We both received very relaxing arm, hand, and shoulder massages\u2014mine from Marlene Sanchez and hers from Melanie Tovmasian\u2014done with infused oils. We enjoyed the massages immensely, with my friend telling me that she actually had more energy for the rest of the day, and a much higher appreciation of what that particular type of oil can do.<\/p>\n Photo by Karen Salkin.<\/p><\/div>\n There were many snacks throughout the day, most of them being sweet<\/em> treats. I got more high on all the sugar than on the fumes and fragrance of the cannabis that was on display (and, in some cases, being smoked.) There were so many adorable desserts to choose from! On site, none of them were infused, (happily for me, who medically cannot ingest anything in that category,) but all the vendors can do them any way you like. There was even a \u201cDonut Wall!\u201d [Note: You regular readers know how much I would hate that at any party I go to since I can\u2019t stand even the sight<\/em> of those desserts\u2014my first job out here in L.A. was at a donut shop, and I really did OD on those spheres, back in the day. Crissy J, a female violinist accompanied instrumental tracks, performing from the middle of the dance floor, and then later on, fabulous singer Aquile, serenaded us from high up on the stage. His sound reminded me of Shawn Mendes, so I hope he gets as well-known, and soon<\/em>!<\/p>\n One of the photo booth pix of Karen Salkin, who’s showing how her bracelet collection matches her hip and happening pants!<\/p><\/div>\n Another bonus was that the Cannabis Wedding Expo was populated by what seemed to me to be upbeat and polite guests. It really did feel like a party, which I really appreciated.<\/p>\n It put my friend and me in such<\/em> a good mood that we even took party pix in not one<\/em> photo booth, but two<\/em>! I think that\u2019s a first.<\/p>\n We had tons of fun, and so can you<\/em>, in the next cities it visits, or back here in Los Angeles next<\/em> year.
