I missed the inaugural Los Angeles\u00a0Westside Food & Wine Festival<\/em> last year, so I\u2019m extra excited for this one, which takes place this Sunday, October 14th. All<\/em> the details are below, but the basics are that the location is the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Westside in Culver City, and the price of admission allows you to eat and drink all you want for the day. Or at least from 4-7PM, with a 3PM start (and free parking) for VIP admissions.<\/p>\n It\u2019s put on by event planner, Todd Elliot–hence, this should\u00a0be a great event<\/em>! Making it even better is that it\u2019s all for a great cause<\/em>; the proceeds benefit the Westside Food Bank, whose mission is to \u201cend hunger in our communities by providing access to free nutritious food through food acquisition and distribution, and by engaging the community and advocating for a strong food assistance network.\u201d What could be more important\u00a0than all that?!<\/p>\n A bit of the Fresh Brothers salads from my last b-day fete. \u00a0My mouth is watering right now! Photo by Karen Salkin.<\/p><\/div>\n I\u2019ll tell you about some of the food purveyors in a moment, but I want to first let you know that this will be a fun day for the whole<\/em> fam. (The kids just cannot be in the alcohol area.) In addition to all the comely comestibles and potent potables, there will be lots of entertainment along the way. We\u2019ll be serenaded by live music and<\/em> a DJ, we can bid on the silent auction items, and if you don\u2019t want to purchase<\/em> anything in the auction, no worries\u2014you\u2019ll also get a chance at the giveaways<\/em>. And I can\u2019t wait to see what I assume will be my personal favorite activity that day–strolling magicians!<\/p>\n But I\u2019m sure that the food tastings<\/em> will be the main attraction for most, so here are just some<\/em> of the restaurants, caterers, and food trucks that will be participating at the Festival: \u00a0Fresh Brothers, who did the delish salads for my last birthday party, will be serving their clamored-for pizzas; GoGo SqueeZ will be offering their convenient, tasty, and healthful applesauce pouches, (which means you should definitely<\/em> bring the kids!,); and the Marriott Hotel itself will be showcasing some of its famous catering, which I\u2019ve actually taken part in many a time.<\/p>\n Photo by Patty Onagan.<\/p><\/div>\n I also look forward to discovering many other<\/em> eateries, including\u00a0Panini Kabob Grill,\u00a0Stonefire Grill,\u00a0Benny’s Tacos,\u00a0Down South Sweets Catering, Red Shoe Cakes,\u00a0Sweet Tooth Confections,\u00a0and especially Di Stefano Burrata Cheese, my fave dairy product!!!<\/p>\n The list of beverages is also extensive, and you can find that, and so much more, on the Los Angeles\u00a0Westside Food & Wine Festival<\/em>\u2019s website below.<\/p>\n I hope to see all of my SoCal readers there.
