The Gratitude Lounge for the 11th annual George Lopez Golf Classic was held once again in the clubhouse of a stunning private golf club in Burbank. (So private, in fact, that I\u2019m not even naming it!)\u00a0\u00a0I loved showing this super-secret location to Lisa Politz, whose year anniversary of working as my main contributing writer is coming up any moment.\u00a0 She was amazed by the beauty of it all. (Her comments are the ones in quotes along the way.)<\/p>\n
The location of the lounge inside the clubhouse featured beautiful views of the entire outdoor tableau.\u00a0 I actually heard Lisa gasp when she walked into the room!\u00a0\u00a0She deemed the golf club to be \u201ca hidden gem in the middle of a charming neighborhood,\u201d and said \u201cthe peaceful setting of the course itself is a paradise!\u201d<\/p>\n

Doris Bergman, who put the entire Gratitude Lounge together, kept it all running smoothly, and made sure that everyone involved was happy and comfortable all day. I really applaud her for that hands-on approach.\u00a0 That\u2019s why her events are always so beautiful and successful. (When Lisa lauded Doris\u2019 \u201cpleasant\u201d staff for all being \u201cvery nice and helpful,\u201d I explained that it starts at the top!)<\/p>\n
The gifts were all fabulous, as you will read in a minute, but much more important is the good work done by the George Lopez Foundation<\/strong>, which this golf classic benefited. Their mission\u00a0is \u201cto create positive, permanent change for underprivileged children, adults and military families confronting challenges in education and health, as well as increasing community awareness about kidney disease and organ donation,\u201d which is something that George knows a thing or two about! Photo by Karen Salkin.<\/p><\/div>\n Most of the celebrities were on the golf course during the time we\u00a0non<\/em>-playing guests perused the many gifts on offer, which made it easier for us to get the scoops on all the items.\u00a0 But I was happy to see singer Eve<\/strong> in there.\u00a0 She reminded me of myself when I used to play in celebrity golf and tennis tournaments\u2014I always did the smallest amount possible of playing the sport, while rocking the cutest outfit.\u00a0 And that pretty much looked like what Eve was doing, on both counts.\u00a0 You go, girl!\u00a0 I like your style.<\/p>\n There was a lovely variety of gifts, with something for everyone.\u00a0 Here are the highlights:<\/p>\n Photo by Lisa Politz.<\/p><\/div>\n Twisted Silver Jewelry<\/strong>\u2014No matter my mood, I instantly perk-up when I spot designer Debra Mitchell at an event. She\u2019s always the most popular, helpful, cool-as-a-cucumber one anywhere.\u00a0\u00a0Lisa has also become a fan, explaining, \u201cThis jewelry always satisfies.\u00a0 It\u2019s rustic yet elegant, and is the kind of jewelry you want to wear everyday because you can dress it up or down.\u00a0 And I expect that everyone<\/em> notices the great style.\u201d\u00a0 Most of the male celebs were interested in the leather wrap bracelets, while the females were clamoring for the attractive necklaces, of which Lisa said, \u201cI love the mix of gold and silver colors in most of them. It\u2019s perfect to keep us busy Hollywood types \u201clooking refreshed and glowing\u201d on the road! \u00a0www.youthglowskincare.com<\/a><\/p>\n Photo by Karen Salkin.<\/p><\/div>\n Zoriz Golf Sandals<\/strong>\u2014This was the perfect gift for all the celebrity golfers!\u00a0 I\u2019ve actually never seen anything like them.\u00a0 They\u2019re comfortable, rubbery sandals with\u2026spikes on the bottom for golfing!\u00a0 After learning all about them, Lisa said they have an \u201cinnovative design\u201d because the flip-flops are \u201ccomfortable\u201d yet have \u201cstructure,\u201d and the gold spikes on the bottom \u201cground your foot on the swing.\u201d\u00a0 She added that, \u201cComfortable feet equals a longer day on the course.\u201d\u00a0 I just wish these comfy, colorful, attractive sandals had been around when\u00a0I\u00a0was playing in celebrity golf tourneys during the run of my TV show.\u00a0 And you know that I would have been rocking\u00a0two<\/em>\u00a0different colors of them\u2014one on each foot! I feel a Tex-Mex country song coming on. Lisa explained that one \u201cused THC, which is the product that makes you high, while the other one contained the pain reliever CBD.\u201d (Of course, all this got legalized just as I\u2019m medically barred from ever using the substance! Just my luck.)
