We\u2019ve seen many holiday-themed live productions in LA, and I recommend absolutely all of them to you, too.<\/p>\n
Speaking of gifts, there is<\/em> one I would<\/em> appreciate from all of you<\/em>! All I want for Christmas is for you guys to follow me on all my social platforms, (if you don\u2019t already.) I can\u2019t believe that was six years ago already! And, very sadly, the pain is still ever-present. But I<\/p>\n<\/a>You should check-out all my recent reviews, so you know just what each one is, but here\u2019s the short list, in the order that they\u2019re closing, (so you know how much time you have to see them.) And you can just use this e-zine\u2019s \u201cSearch\u201d boxes to find the full reviews, if you\u2019re so inclined: Miracle On 34th Street<\/em>\u00a0at the Pasadena Playhouse, Beauty and the Beast\u2014A Christmas<\/em> Rose<\/em>\u00a0at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, A Christmas Story<\/em>\u00a0at the Sierra Madre Playhouse, (which, trust me, is a thousand times better than that awful recent TV musical of it!,) Aladdin and His Winter Wish<\/em>\u00a0at the Laguna Playhouse, and Chill<\/em> at the Queen Mary (which is not a stage\u00a0show but a limited-time amusement park.)<\/p>\n<\/a>Mr. X has even been very cooperative! He came with me to the first three shows above, which is a Christmas miracle! And he enjoyed them all. We also did other Christmas-y things, stopping short of really celebrating it in our house, because my soul is still not there yet, even though I\u2019m sure my mother would love for us to do so\u2014she was the most into the pageantry of the season of every Jewish person I know. Her adorable house displays, (with every item being a gift from me<\/em>, of course, so I really<\/em> know her decorations,) even outdid ours<\/em>!<\/p>\n<\/a>So, to reciprocate the holiday cooperation back to Mr. X, I went along with his wishes to watch every crappy and sappy Christmas movie on regular TV this year. We had never done that before, and the majority of them were awful, but you know what? We had a really good time doing it! It was a very different activity for us, and distracted us from the fact that we weren\u2019t decorating or spending time buying totally unnecessary gifts.<\/p>\n
