So, as with all<\/em> things between the two coasts, (in my humble opinion,) Los Angeles won the Celeb Sightings war, in volume<\/em>. But, I must admit, nothing beat the one I not only \u201csighted\u201d in NYC on October 18, but met and chatted with a few times<\/em>! OMG! Read on. [Note: The first three below are from NY, and the rest were in LA.]<\/p>\n Karen Salkin (the extreme heat is what happened to her hair that day) and Charles Barkley. Photo by Lauren Clarke-Bennett.<\/p><\/div>\n 10\/13\/16<\/strong>\u00a0 Young model Bella Hadid<\/strong> at Cipriani 42nd Street, for the Global Lyme Alliance event, which was beautifully designed by Lawrence Scott, who donated his services to the cause.\u00a0 If ever I had a wedding, he\u2019s who I would want!<\/p>\n 10\/18\/16\u00a0<\/strong> Okay, kiddies\u2014this is the one I\u2019m still fainting over! Charles Barkley<\/strong>! OMG! It was at the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame event at the gorgeous Waldorf Astoria in midtown. I also chatted with Charle\u2019s fellow basketball commentator, Kenny Smith<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>and recently-out-of-work talk show host, Larry Wilmore<\/strong>. Photo by Jen Lowery.<\/p><\/div>\n 10\/20\/16<\/strong>\u00a0 After seeing Don Lemon<\/strong> at the above-mentioned event just two nights before, I ran into him again in front of Carnegie Hall!\u00a0 No one famous was performing that night, but the outside was buzzing.<\/p>\n 11\/4\/16<\/strong> Back in LA, Emma Stone<\/strong>\u00a0spoke\u00a0after the first industry screening of the annoying LaLaLand<\/em> in Burbank. How that movie is getting rave reviews, and being nominated for awards, (outside of the Razzies, which it deserves in every category,) is beyond me.<\/p>\n P 11\/5\/16 Nicole Richie <\/strong>and Cameron Diaz<\/strong>\u00a0speaking\u00a0at Nicole’s women’s empowerment conference, Pearl xChange, at the London Hotel in Beverly Hills. \u00a0It was fun to see the sisters-in-law\u00a0interacting\u00a0for the crowd. (You can read all about it here: itsnotaboutme.tv\/news\/event-pearl-xchange-conference-2016<\/a>.)<\/p>\n Denzel Washington and the Queen of Snotty Crying, Viola Davis.<\/p><\/div>\n 11\/5\/16<\/strong> At the first industry\u00a0screening\u00a0of Fences<\/em>, (in one of the few real<\/em> movie theatres left in town, in Westwood Village,) before its Christmas Day release, the entire cast, most notably Denzel\u00a0Washington\u00a0<\/strong>and Viola Davis<\/strong>, did a major Q-and-A afterwards.<\/p>\n 11\/9\/16 \u00a0Michael Shannon<\/strong> and Aaron Taylor-Johnson<\/strong> speaking after a West LA\u00a0screening of their very confusing but beautifully shot (and cast) new film, Nocturnal Animals<\/em>. \u00a0I loved it when no-nonsense\u00a0Michael told the crowd that Aaron’s very evil rapist character is “the Donald Trump of the film.” \u00a0At least Hollywood, for the most part, got the election right! (A lot of good that does us, though.)<\/p>\n 11\/9\/16<\/strong> \u00a0Later that same day, Michael Keaton<\/strong> spoke in West Hollywood, after an industry screening of The Founder<\/em>, the film about Ray Croc, of McDonald’s fame. \u00a0I hope that Michael is okay because he was slurring the whole time. \u00a0He was doing that\u00a0in the movie, too, but I had\u00a0assumed that that\u00a0was a character choice.<\/p>\n Rhoda stars Ray Buktenica and Valerie Harper. Kidston.<\/p><\/div>\n 11\/13\/16<\/strong> Very cute Ryan Reynolds<\/strong> at an industry screening of his film Deadpool<\/em> in Century City.\u00a0 Until then, I had no idea that he was involved in this project for years!\u00a0 It was actually his idea to make it into a movie to begin with! (Did you guess who that was at the top of the page? \u00a0You are correct if you said\u00a0Ryan Reynolds. \u00a0And just look at those muscles! \u00a0Photo by Karen Salkin.)<\/p>\n 11\/14\/16<\/strong> The most fun I had all month, (and possibly all year<\/em>!,) was witnessing this fun mini-reunion of the sitcom, Rhoda<\/em>!!!\u00a0 Valerie Harper <\/strong>and Ray Buktenica<\/strong> looked thrilled to reunite at a party in Beverly Hills for artist Mario AC Della Casa.\u00a0 I heard Valerie tell Ray that he made the whole night for her!\u00a0 They both<\/em> did that for me<\/em>. I don\u2019t know why that was the case. (You can read my review of the play here: itsnotaboutme.tv\/news\/theatre-the-beauty-queen-of-leenane<\/a>.)<\/p>\n 11\/17\/16 Matthew McConaughey <\/strong>and Bryce Dallas Howard<\/strong> speaking after a screening in West Hollywood of their awful new film, Gold<\/em>.\u00a0 It\u2019s a major turkey, just in time for Thanksgiving!<\/p>\n Lily Collins, Annette Benning, and Warren Beatty. Photo by Mr. X.<\/p><\/div>\n 11\/19\/16<\/strong> This was a fun one: after the first industry screening of Rules Don\u2019t Apply<\/em>, in Century City, a Q-and-A was done by Lily Collins<\/strong>, Annette Benning<\/strong>, and none other than the star\/director Warren Beatty<\/strong>, who is almost as elusive as Howard Hughes, whom he plays in the film.<\/p>\n 11\/20\/16<\/strong> In Century City, a Q-and-A was done by almost the entire main cast of what I consider to be the best movie of the year, (so far,) Hidden Figures<\/em>. There was Taraji P.
