7\/9\/16 Fred Willard<\/strong> at the fabulous Concern Foundation Block Party at Paramount Studio in Hollywood. He was just sitting at a table, watching the presentation, looking serene. (If you want to read about this best event of the year, click here: itsnotaboutme.tv\/news\/eventpartycharity-concern-foundation-block-party-2016<\/a>.)<\/p>\n 7\/12\/16<\/strong> Former pro basketball player John Salley<\/strong> at GBK\u2019s pre-Espy Awards gifting suite in Hollywood. I used to know him a bit, back in the day, so I was happy to remind him that he\u2019s tied with the glorious recently-retired Tim Duncan as the only two players in history to win an NBA Championship in three different decades! (Here\u2019s my write-up of that whole suite: itsnotaboutme.tv\/news\/gifting-suite-gbk-gifting-suite-honoring-the-espy-awards<\/a>.)<\/p>\n 7\/13\/16<\/strong> The still-beautiful Jaclyn Smith<\/strong> at the Grey Gardens<\/em> opening at the Ahmanson Theatre in DTLA. And she was with celebrity hairdresser Jose Eber<\/strong>. Who knew they are pals?! Mr. X was actually more excited to see Jose than Jaclyn, because we just had to tell him how much we love his hair dryer! It\u2019s the best one ever! Photo by INAM staff.<\/p><\/div>\n 7\/13\/16<\/strong> Also at the above-mentioned opening night, senior celebrity couple, Joe Bologna <\/strong>and Renee Taylor<\/strong>. I know that poor Joe isn\u2019t doing too well health-wise, but I give him a lot credit\u2014he was pushing his poor wife in a wheelchair! The big group I was with when we spotted the duo was in shock\u2014none of us had heard anything about Renee being in that condition! But later on, I saw her exit the handicapped bathroom under her own power. So maybe whatever was ailing her that night wasn\u2019t that serious after all.<\/p>\n 7\/30\/16<\/strong> The unbelievable Dick Van Dyke<\/strong> at the Malibu Arts Festival. I see him there every year, at his artist grandson\u2019s booth, and this time, I was finally brave enough to speak to him. He was adorable. I knew he\u2019d be shocked to learn what my favorite work of his is, and he did not disappoint. It\u2019s the 1979 movie, The Runner Stumbles<\/em>, about a priest and a nun. Photo by Karen Salkin.<\/p><\/div>\n 8\/15\/16<\/strong> \u00a0So many\u00a0celebrities\u00a0in one place! \u00a0At the very special show One Starry Night<\/em>, to benefit ALS\u00a0research at the Pasadena Playhouse, they were all over the place–in the show, in the audience, and at the after-party. \u00a0I even parked, and\u00a0walked in with, Jason Alexander<\/strong>! \u00a0These are just a few of the other ones I spied: Hal Linden<\/strong>, JoAnne Worley<\/strong>, Valerie<\/strong> Pettiford<\/strong>, and the one I went to see–none other than the iconic Hayley Mills<\/strong>!!! Photo by Karen Salkin.<\/p><\/div>\n 8\/22\/16<\/strong> Screening season has finally begun, and with it brought the stars of The Hollars<\/em>, John Krasinski<\/strong> and Margo Martindale<\/strong>, in West Hollywood. I\u2019m always happy for the success of this marvelous older actress; it gives us all hope. I had never seen John before, except in photos, (because I\u2019ve never watched The Office<\/em>,) but I was uber-impressed with him. He\u2019s adorable, intelligent, and so much better-looking than the pix I\u2019ve seen of him! We got into cars right next to each other on the way out, so I got to tell him, \u201cGood job!,\u201d to which he replied, \u201cThank you. I really appreciate it!\u2019 And you know what\u2014I think he really did!<\/p>\n 9\/11\/16<\/strong> More of a working actor than a celeb, but I talked to Conrad Ricamora<\/strong> from How To Get Away With Murder<\/em> at the opening night party for The Fantasticks<\/em> at the Pasadena Playhouse. Photo by David Palmer.<\/p><\/div>\n 9\/15\/16<\/strong> At Doris Bergman\u2019s Emmys luncheon and gifting suite, in West Hollywood, I spied the always-adorable Jason Ritter<\/strong> and Glee<\/em>\u2019s Jane Lynch<\/strong>, (although not together, of course.) (You can read about the whole event here: itsnotaboutme.tv\/news\/gifting-suite-doris-bergmans-2016-emmy-style-lounge-party<\/a>.)<\/p>\n 9\/15\/16 Ray Romano<\/strong>, Kevin Nealon<\/strong>, and the gorgeous Tim Matheson<\/strong> (who has to be the best-looking \u201cmature\u201d man ever) were all on-stage at the wonderful WeSpark gala in Bel-Air. I wish I had told Tim that Hart of Dixie<\/em> was my favorite show; since everyone at this event was a grown-up, I think he would have been shocked that one of us even heard of that show (it\u2019s on the CW,) let alone name it as her fave!!! Photo by Karen Salkin.<\/p><\/div>\n 9\/17\/16<\/strong> I saw Margo Martindale<\/strong> (for the second time in a month!,) and Veep<\/em>\u2019s Tony Hale<\/strong> at the GBK gifting lounge for the Emmys, at a beautiful hotel in Beverly Hills. (You can read about the whole event here: itsnotaboutme.tv\/news\/gifting-suite-gbk-2016-pre-emmys-lounge<\/a>.)<\/p>\n 9\/19\/16<\/strong> I was happy to see (and hear) Tom Hiddleston<\/strong> at the first industry screening of his Hank Williams biopic, I Saw The Light<\/em>, in West L.A. I knew nothing about him, except that he\u2019s supposed to be a heartthrob, so I was sort-of surprised to see a skinny guy with a small head. He wasn\u2019t even particularly amusing or charming; he was just a nice, normal, basic guy. But it turns-out that he and I have something in common\u2014we both did fake radio shows as kids! Photo by Not a Portfolio.<\/p><\/div>\n 9\/25\/16<\/strong> At an event in Beverly Hills, to raise funds for needy holocaust survivors, I hung-out for a bit with Lou Grant himself, Ed Asner<\/strong>, and also former Access Hollywood<\/em> host, Shaun<\/strong> Robinson<\/strong>, who just the day before had been anointed My New Best Friend! Now I\u2019m off to New York to see what celebs I can spot there.
