I\u2019ll tell you about some of those in a minute, but first let\u2019s get to the highlights of the sponsors with whom we spoke:<\/p>\n

This time, I tried their new Jujubes, and Curtis sampled the Apricots. He said, \u201cI’m not a fan of dried fruit, but these were actually quite good! And they\u2019re sun-dried, so it\u2019s a really healthful snack.\u201d We also tasted their\u00a0organic fruit spread. I went with a theme and kept it at Jujube Butter, while Curtis chose Harvest Jam. They always come with something different each time. This go-round, the guests had a choice of tops, including little crop tanks, which I hope were just for the girls! I wouldn\u2019t want to see them on those giant basketballers! \u00a0www.garyred.com<\/a><\/p>\n Cryo Max<\/strong>\u2014They were gifting a variety of their reusable heat or cold packs, which I\u2019m sure that all the athletes were happy to receive! \u00a0www.cryomax.com<\/a><\/p>\n Photo by Karen Salkin.<\/p><\/div>\n Parfaire Medical Aesthetics<\/strong>\u2013These skin care peeps were gifting certificates\u00a0with the guests’ choice of a\u00a0facial or a couple of other\u00a0services, in their Pasadena office. And I knew they had good aesthetics to begin with because they had a beautiful purple-and-silver display, complete with chocolate candies wrapped in those colors! (I guess they don\u2019t care if we eat those confections because they\u2019ll get rid of the new pimples when they treat us!) www.parfaire.com<\/a><\/p>\n Churned Creamery<\/strong>\u2014On such a hot day, this on-site mini ice cream parlor was a real treat for the guests. They offered up a handful of their flavors, along with several toppings. Curtis really enjoyed it, and said, his vanilla was \u201cvery smooth and creamy.\u201d I loved that they had a Nutella flavor for me, which was chocolatey yet light.\u00a0www.churnedcreamery.com<\/a><\/p>\n Photo by Karen Salkin.<\/p><\/div>\n Pickled Planet<\/strong>–This company was gifting jars of very creative sauerkrauts. What a fun, different gift! And they each have interesting descriptions. If that condiment is not your thing, you could instead choose a colorful tee featuring\u2014what else?–pickles, of course! www.pickledplanet.com<\/a><\/p>\n Other gifts included Ranch Organics<\/strong> soaps and body lotions, (of the \u201cgreat, fantastic-smelling\u201d soaps, Curtis said, \u201cI left them in my bedroom and thought I had just done a fresh load of laundry with some great smelling softener!\u201d); Theracane<\/strong> massagers (in either pink or blue\u2014nice touch!); adorable Sock It To Me<\/strong> men\u2019s patterned socks and underwear that Curtis deemed \u201cwhimsical and charming\u201d; Beso Del Sol Sangria<\/strong> wine in pint-size cartons; Slime<\/strong> water-filled tire gauges; Kinesis<\/strong> dog kibble; Trojan<\/strong>, how shall I put it?, \u201cpersonal pleasure assisters\u201d; and popular flavored Hint Water<\/strong>.<\/p>\n I am disappointed in one thing, though\u2014that I missed the major sports guys who showed-up after I left! What bad timing I had that day! Here\u2019s who I missed: Richard Jefferson and Channing Fry from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Terrell Owens, Scott Hamilton, and Greg Louganis, all people I would have liked to see. And what an eclectic group, eh? They\u2019re all athletes, but a more disparate group of males it would be hard to find.
