10\/13\/14<\/strong> Hugh Hefner wife, and now clothing designer, Crystal Hefner<\/strong>, at the Art Hearts Fashion show at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood. Pretty woman, but let’s just say she’s had some work done. (Something no one can ever accuse me<\/em> of…yet!)<\/p>\n 10\/17\/14<\/strong> Music business divas Sheryl Lee Ralph<\/strong> and Destiny Child’s Michelle Williams<\/strong>, (and guy diva Kenny Lattimore<\/strong>,) at the uber-private Divas Simply Singing gifting suite at the Nightbird Recording Studios in the basement of the Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood. It was held to benefit the DIVA Foundation, for which all the ladies were performing the following night.<\/p>\n Gena Rowlands. Photo by Karen Salkin.<\/p><\/div>\n 10\/21\/14 Bill Murray<\/strong>, in Beverly Hills, at a post-industry screening of his brilliant new film, St. Vincent.<\/em> What a treat it was to hear his private bon mots about the film, the business, and life. (If you haven’t read my glowing review yet, click here: itsnotaboutme.tv\/news\/movie-review-st-vincent<\/a>.)<\/p>\n 10\/22\/14<\/strong> At West Hollywood’s Pacific Design Center, the radiant and charming octogenarian actress, Gena Rowlands<\/strong>, speaking after an industry screening of her new film, Six Dance<\/em> Lessons In Six Days<\/em>. She spoke a tad slowly, but her wit and insights were spot-on. [Note: My review of the film will be up in the next week or two.]<\/p>\n Karen Salkin (wearing glasses to disguise the fact that she had cried all her make-up off in the above-mentioned screening, so don\u2019t judge) and Giancarlo Stanton. Photo by Alice Farinas.<\/p><\/div>\n 10\/22\/14<\/strong> I almost jumped out of my skin when I spotted baseball player Giancarlo Stanton<\/strong> at the humongous Restoration Hardware party on Melrose in West Hollywood! I was thrilled to see that his gorgeous face had healed beautifully from suffering the most brutal hit by a pitch I’ve ever seen! (Look it up, if you’re brave enough.) And he was so darling to me. He kept asking if I was happy enough with the pix we took. (I was not at all, but I didn’t want to make him keep taking more until I looked good enough. We’d still be there now!!!) If only my beloved Yankees could steal him away from the Florida Marlins, my season next year would be looking up. Oh, preggers Molly Simms<\/strong> was at the fete, too, but, of course, I didn’t notice her, (or anyone else,) until Giancarlo left!<\/p>\n Tilda Swinton, greeting each fan personally. [Note: My review of this hole-filled bummer to come in the not-so-distant future, as well.]<\/p>\n 11\/2\/14<\/strong> Award-winning choreographer Mandy Moore<\/strong> at the World Dance Awards at the Avalon in Hollywood. Photo courtesy of Aitysh Film.<\/p><\/div>\n 11\/4\/14<\/strong> Long known for supporting worthy endeavors, Sharon Stone<\/strong> was at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood to introduce her choice for Foreign Film awards, Kyrgyzstan\u2019s Kurmanjan Datka, Queen of The Mountains<\/em>. I’m sure she’s sick of her age being mentioned in every single article about her, (I know I<\/em> would be…unless they got mine wrong<\/em>,) but a more gorgeous fifty-six-year-old I cannot imagine!<\/p>\n 11\/5\/14<\/strong> Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe<\/strong>, joining ballroom dancing stalwart Pierre Dulaine<\/strong>, in West LA, to speak after their must-see documentary, Dancing in Jaffa<\/em>. Their talk was a perfect enlightening adjunct to the film.
