HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY 2014

In looking over my archives, I was shocked to discover that I’ve acknowledged St. Patrick’s Day only once in the previous four years of this e-zine! And I’m a huge fan of this holiday!

Maybe I was always too busy celebrating to write about it, but it’s such a fun, non-painful holiday that I’m sorry I neglected to wish you a happy one in the past.

Even though I’ve not had many memorable St. Patrick’s Days in L.A., (most of the good ones have been on the east coast; you can read about some of them here: itsnotaboutme.tv/news/holiday-happy-st-pattys-day,) there have been a few happy March 17ths in this town, as well.

1016434_680769091964757_1695913225_nThe only ones I can remember off the top of my head, though, are the ones I spent at the home of my dear late friend, the fabulous Geoff Miller, (publisher of Los Angeles Magazine,) and his lovely wife Kathryn, who used to have a big Irish dinner at their Beverly Hills home every year; it was always so comfortable that even Mr. X showed up to it!

We were invited to another home-cooked corned beef dinner by another Irish pal this past week-end, but, sadly, I was committed elsewhere. I’m just hoping that one of my friends comes up with something creative to do today, (other than to spend it in hand therapy.)

No matter what, I want to remind you all to wear green, or risk being pinched by the people in the know. And not brushing your teeth, to make them appear green, does not count!

Someone sent me this Irish Blessing, so I’m going to share it with you all, and hope it works, even if you’re not Irish:

May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks,
May your heart be as light as a song,
May each day bring you bright, happy hours,
That stay with you all the year long.

I wish you all a fabulous, safe, green, St. Patrick’s Day! Erin go bragh!

Share.
