I hope that we all have as fabulous a holiday celebration as I did at Fred Deni and Jim Crystal’s annual pre-4th fete.  This may be the last year that they do it, (because it’s such a gargantuan undertaking,) so they went out with an extra bang; I just hope that their overflowing guests appreciated it as much as Mr. X and I always do.  (I’m still too exhausted from all the reveling to write about it anew, so please check-out my “review” of their 2013 edition, which follows the same pattern as this one, here: itsnotaboutme.tv/news/holiday-happy-fourth-of-july-2013.)

When Mr. X and I were on the way home from Fred and Jim’s last week-end, I said that now I can’t think of anything to do on the actual holiday because this soiree had it all: unbelievably delicious food, great live music, a relaxing secret “VIP Room,” (to be away from the kids in attendance,) and, perhaps most important of all—fireworks that we didn’t have to move a muscle to see! I concluded that no party could beat this one, so why even try for plans on the real 4th?!

But, no matter what I will be doing this week-end, I know what I’ll be wearing. Ever the patriot, I’ll be rocking red, white, and blue, of course.  Since I’ve worn-out all of my many (yes—many) usual items of 4th of July attire, I was thrilled to recently discover the most adorable belt from C4 Belts.  Already a fan of this company that allows you to mix-and-match the actual belt with the buckle, (I also own a neon pink one, and a black-and-silver combo,) I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a flag belt! I tortured myself trying to decide between a blue or red buckle.  Guess which one I chose?  I’ll give you a second.  Spoiler alert—here comes the answer–I finally went with the red, and it looks great! (Wasn’t that worth thinking about?)

Whatever you do for July 4th, (or wear, or eat, or say,) I hope you make it a fun, peaceful, and safe one for all! I myself am taking tomorrow off, to give myself a much-needed three-day week-end. I hope you get to do the same.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY 2015!  I’ll meet you back here on Monday.
