SECRET ROOM EVENTS GOLDEN GLOBES STYLE LOUNGE 2017

Once again, Secret Room Events hosted their fabulous event honoring the Golden Globes at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. I’m always amazed that they continue to find so many new items to share with us!!! They certainly know how to keep our interest. For me, this lounge was about discovering new product after new product after new product! And the main body of them this time had to do with skincare, which everyone has a major interest in nowadays. Everyone there was so nice, too.

So, let’s get to the highlights of my discoveries already:

CelleCle Skincare—The rep of this very new company explained to me that their skincare line was developed to help us deal with “modern-day” dermatological problems, such as “technology neck.” But hey–I’m not done dealing with old school problems yet!!! To show me the benefits of the line, I received a refreshening mini-facial by lovely company aesthetician, Brittaney Johnston. If my skin winds-up looking even half as good as her gorgeous epidermis, I’ll be thrilled. (Even Mr. X thought my face looked better…and, I swear, somehow, thinner!) www.cellecleskincare.com

Barlean’s—This health and wellness company came up with the greatest gift—a giant goodie bag chockfull of their wonderful oils, like flaxseed and omegas, and flavored fiber blends, which you add to smoothies or just plain milk. Their butter-flavored coconut oil is a winner! On top of popcorn, you have the most healthful treat. And now, with how much I’m on the computer writing this e-zine, I think I really need their Eye Remedy, too, which I just found-out about! www.barleans.com

The Happiness Box—What a lovely idea this is! It’s a cylinder with a year’s worth of uplifting quotations. The basic idea is to draw one quote a day, to stay positive. It’s something that everyone in this country will need not just for this year, but until the next election!!! www.potdebonheur.com/en

Mighty No Bitey—I love this story!!! The woman showing me this wonderful insect repellant (which is for people, but they make one for dogs and horses, too,) had a very pretty voice, which was familiar to me. She turned-out to be stand-up comedienne Elayne Boosler! (So, the biggest celeb there was not a guest but a sponsor! How interesting.) And to add to the fun, I used to know her brother in New York, when he worked with my optometrist there! On top of that, she used to watch my TV show! What a fun mutual admiration society that sponsor table turned-out to be! (By the way—she was there giving out these products to make people aware of her pet charity, www.tailsofjoy.net. If you’re a fan of hers, or of animals, you should check it out.) And the icing on the cake is that this natural insect repellant is the bomb! You can even apply it to your hair! [Note: I think this paragraph has set a new record for exclamation points!] www.mightynobitey.com

Anne Neilson Home—You could tell that this designing woman is an artist, even from afar, because of her gorgeous full corner display. In the midst of it, she was gifting exquisite luxury candles, whose boxes are adorned with her ethereal angel paintings. www.anneneilsonhome.com

Dripo—I don’t drink coffee, but if I did, I have a feeling I’d do in from this clever device. It brews the coffee right into a portable cup! How convenient is that?!  www.getdripo.com

Serumtologie—Who would not be interested in using an affordable Vitamin C serum, straight out of Beverly Hills? The answer is—no one. So, luckily for the Secret Room guests, this company was gifting just that, along with a jar of their whipped moisturizer, which is a good duo. www.serumtologie.com

European Skin and Massage Studio—To let us know about their facial studio in town, they were gifting their special charcoal mask, which is the latest thing in skincare! Now I just have to try-out one of their professional facials to go with the masque! www.europeanskinandmassagestudio.com

Just a hint that this company is from Australia. Photo by Karen Salkin.

Auspect Clinical Skincare —I love that this Aussie company (which has the “Aus” right in their title,) has “starter kits” for so many different issues. What a fun way to try out all their wonderful products without a giant investment! And then you have the perfect travel sizes, as well.  www.auspectskincare.com

Julie’s Real—I could have eaten about ten bags of this gluten-free granola on the spot! It is soooo delicious! And I usually hate granola! www.juliesreal.com

Forever in My Heart Jewelry—What a great concept this company has—for every piece of jewelry sold, the buyer gets to choose which animal charity they want part of the purchase price to go to. You can even go to their site right now, and buy the exact sterling silver heart bracelet they were gifting at the suite! www.foreverinmyheartjewelry.com

Martinni Beauty—It appears that face masks are this company’s forte, so they gifted a variety of them, which I’m sure everyone was happy about. www.martinnibeauty.com

Bioderma—I had the most fun speaking with this company’s charming French rep. And he has beautiful skin, so I trust him on skin care. He told me this is the original micellar water, which is a non-rinsing make-up remover that I’ve been ever so curious to try since I first heard about it. But that’s but one product in their extensive line; you’ll be bowled-over when you see how much they have to offer! www.bioderma.us

Furrfighters—They were gifting little cloths that clean pet hair off…everything! And they’re easy-to-wash, as well. I wish that all my pals with pets would use them on the passenger seat of their cars before I get in! (And on their own clothing, as well! Hint, hint.)  www.furrfighters.com

Storm Instant Wrinkle Lift Serum—This is one of those magic eye-wrinkle-and-bags erasing serums. But it’s even smarter than the others because it comes in a box of tiny packets, which are perfect for traveling, keeping in your purse or car, or storing at your boyfriend’s house, so he never has to see the real you! And the founder of the company is the woman with the greatest name I’ve ever heard in my whole life–Karen Sinclair Drake! How jealous am I?! But I still crowned her My New Best Friend! And now, even though she has the better “Karen” moniker, I’ll look as good as she does when we got to afternoon tea soon because we both have the same anti-wrinkle secret! www.cosmeticresearchlab.com

Splat Oral Care—I can’t imagine a company with a wider range of tooth-health products! There’s something for everyone, including innovative toothbrushes! I’d love to give the Extra White toothpaste to everyone I meet, (including myself!) www.splatoralcare.uk

McCoy Co. Ltd.—This skincare company from Japan was gifting their famous Non F expert body cream, which helps you look thinner! Now I know why everyone in that country looks trim! www.mccoy.sakura.ne.jp/hp/english_hp

Aromababy—If these baby products work as well as their packaging is pretty, you’ll have a happy infant on your hands. www.aromababy.com

Urban Heal—With Korean skincare being the hot new trend, everyone was clamoring for the facial masks from this company, which are formulated for a variety of issues. There’s one for anti-aging and another to help bring dewiness to your visage. www.site-931917-584-9506.strikingly.com

Cote Hair Care—This company makes only one shampoo and conditioner because they feel that that hair care does need to be so complicated. I love the simplicity of the concept! With this duo, there’s nothing extra to think about. www.cotehair.com

Secret Room’s charity this year is Paw Works, which is a non-profit animal rescue organization, as always-worthy cause. www.pawworks.org
